Use more variations of grey on different types of texts (headings and pragraphs) Try to use some other color combination. This blue does not look that good when paired with white and grey combo. Something more subtle not so aggresive. Also there is so many free unused white space. Think about that may be?
Otherwise quite decent alternative to Jarvis, man
You will not get approved with this template because you just copied other authors idea that is already in the category.
This is not the way to succeed, if you want my opinion on the matter.
Try to come up with something original. Noone forces you to discover everything from scratch, but you should not just bluntly take other people’s work and tag it with your name. In a long run, that just hurts your name.
So they don’t spare even an Elite Author.
Well, I guess answer will be same as in my case: They already have plenty of one page themeslike yours and others.
They require some kind of uniquenesss and originality. What was great 6 months ago or so, is now obsolete.
I like your theme – I also liked your coming soon page that was used as basis for this template. It just isn’t enough for them. Trends have shifted other way and you’re left behind.
To be honest, I don’t have any idea what is currently “in”, but it’s not this anymore. Too bad noone told us or customers that.
Yeah, I kinda stated that in the first initial comment. I know I can’t do anything about it. I don’t even want to. I will move on and work on something completely new.
I just wanted to let others know, that it sometimes isn’t fair. That there are others like them out there, who have been rejected.
But I’m not sure about that freebie stuff. May be I will do that. It would definitely be motivation or me to finally work on my own webpage – that generic WP template is getting more and more anoying
So thanks for that – valuable advice – and even for that blunt statement about lack of originality After all, feedback is for moving us forward, not scratching belly of our EGOs
I am sorry about what happened to you. Wish you luck and may be they will understand the situation.
How do you ask for second reviewer?
so I had a break during summer and did not create any template. I am back though. With a new template – ready and happy to get back into marketplace.
I uploaded my new coming soon page at night only to wake for the rejection info. I think my template is good enough to be accepted, so I did not give up and uploaded it second time with information about credits to images and plugin.
Information about my design not being unique enough and stuff about drawing line somewhere since there is lot of similar templates was added this time.
OK, I get it – my template is not a one of a kind masterpiece original idea. So I was okey with rejection – not even very angry. I kinda understood the point so far and was content with it.
But then I opened new coming soon templates and I see template with same style as newest item. I was furious. It strikes me as kinda hypocrytical to say that “they have to draw line” and then accept same type of template from different author.
I don’t blame author of course – it’s not his/her fault that their item was accepted and mine not. But it is kinda unfair to me from reviewer and themeforest, to take mine chance to make a sale.
Even more when my item provided 3 versions of template based on complexity – small, medium and large version.
So what do you think about this and what do you say about my template?
All ideas are welcome. I know I won’t change their mind (probably). I just need to vent my anger somehow.
I like it. It’s definitely not a generic template. I don’t really see reason to turn it down. May be try to upload it several times in a short period and ask in comment to reviewer to tell you the reason.
Great! So you can be our admin:) Your first taks is to think out what web solution we will use, I mean, will it be based on something like WordPress (with some forum plugin) or something totally different. I don’t have an experience with such portals. But as I will be really busy for a while, let’s just bring the ideas together and we can start doing something real later this year.
I will pay a domain/hosting and can do some web design of course.
Easy there tiger First things first. You need to think about content and form before you decide on technological solution for your task. What features should be included? Whats is the main goal of the project? How many authors? How many and what type of content do we provide. I can shoot a dozen different technological solutions for this type of project, but it needs serious analysis and planning if you are serious about it.
Welcome DoubleX! Another member from the far east:)
Yes, it is indeed weird. I am thinking about creating some community portal just for CZ & SK authors. But I am yet not sure about the form and what it can give to all of us.
So anybody who have some ideas, bring them here. I am thinking about a place where we can exchange our experiences in forum fashion (without EN language of course:)) but at the same time where we can use that portal to promote our items. Something like CSFD.cz for Envato/other marketplaces items:)
So, anybody interested, let us know what you can bring to the table to create such portal (what kind of skills, money investment, writing articles…etc).
This is actually great idea. Had something similar in mind, but may be in smaller scale.
I am willing to help. I am not exactly expert, but I have some real-life experience in area of web portals. Done some projects with folks from university. So I am willing to help. No PHP framework is a problem.
Also with some content. It may be a good idea to make it from the beginning as a two language project. So it can be available to more people. Author can write in Slovak language and then someone with enough language skills can translate also into English, so more people can read it. Or the other way around in case of foreign author. But that’s just my portion of ideas
