I think your other issue with WP as a coming soon template is that to add this to a site requires a degree of knowledge to allow the user to keep editing their main theme at the same time without having to move various setups about.
The concept of using a plugin which is easy to active/deactivate and allows them to continue editing as usual is always going to be more appealing.
For this file to work you are going to have to advance it and add more to it
Firstly – I assume the author gave you permission to convert this right?
Coming soon is pretty rare for WP as there is not a whole lot to base it upon and it means that several of the existing WP requirements for submission are impossible
IE8 is NOT a compulsory requirement any more and the code seems to validate ok. My guess is that for WP versions you will need to find more bespoke features to add to it
P.s I am not sure you should be using that logo as an avatar
The high res and retina refers to your site having the capacity to display alternate images for certain resolution types, but I would not worry too much about that yet.
brianpirouet is right – this is not good enough for here. For such a simple project it still has to offer something unique or cool to make it stand out.
Your typography needs work
the search bar is too wide and type looks too small in relation to it
footer needs more to it
spacing is inconsistent
generally the design is weak and outdated
Look at the competition like http://themeforest.net/item/connect-four-404-maintenance/6818584 or http://themeforest.net/item/wordsearch-responsive-404-error-pack/6531230 or even something as simple as http://themeforest.net/item/samara-responsive-404-page-/full_screen_preview/6760532 the point is they all have much tighter and clean design work and in most cases offer something impressively different.
It does not sound like you submitted the file correctly but the best way is to just host all your demo images of the different available pages in your PSD (as jpg) on a free image hosting site and post inks to them here
No do not send us the original PSD itself – when you submit a PSD here a “Demo version” has to be hosted. Click any PSD for sale here and see what we mean. This shows all the different individual pages – that’s the version that would be helpful.
That is a hard rejection so the layers would definitively be an issue but nevertheless the design still does not look up to the standard. It would be easier to comment if you post the hosted link you sent envato here
All the ‘4 Seasons’ files I can see are NOT WP themes. Can you link to the file you mean?
What was the message you received?
Based on that link above the documentation is not the problem.
I assume you sent them the PSD laid out correctly and host outside of a display like this?
It is quite difficult to comment precisely based on the multi demo image but the typography, alignment and spacing looks off and it doe snot seem like high enough quality of design or range of options for PSDs here
Noone wants to see people having issues but this is not the right place to kick off.
Send support a ticket here http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit and they will sort it out
