I don’t envy anyone, I just respect the authors that come up with original stuff. Practice makes better :)

I use Dreamweaver / jedit. Jedit is a really nice little editor that most folks tend to overlook.. for a couple of reasons, its default skin is beyond ugly and its Java.

However, reading this post inspired me to redownload it and try it again.. I fixed up its colors / fonts so it is quite nice to look at now, and it has the things I need in an editor:

1)Split pane, unlimited splits, vertical and horizontal, documents in each. 2)Code folding, not the usual kind, but the kind where you can actually place where you want the folds. This makes handling big docs waaay nicer :) 3)Inbuilt ftp support

Do any other editors support these 3?

Yes, Aptana Studio 3 – http://www.aptana.com/products/studio3 and Komodo Edit which I personally like more than Aptana http://www.activestate.com/komodo-edit

Aptana Studio has a lot of themes and there’s one named Dreamweaver that colors your code just like Dreamweaver. Aptana is very nice but I prefer Komodo Edit because to me it seems a little faster and the code hints are more precise.

I have used n++ in the past but an editor that has code hints will improve your timings :)

Just my opinion.

i have a dreamweaver cs 5.5 licence and i cannot image life without it. others are just dead bugs on a window. i know its not free but that is my opinion.

Can you have 2 separate files like all other editors and not another instance of the same file in the split code?

What? .. What do you mean?

Maybe you wanted to say ‘convert your HTML templates to WordPress themes’?

The deposit is not required and I think you didn’t understand very well how this works or you don’t explain too well your problem. I don’t see why you’re so pissed off?

I’m using Komodo Edit (http://www.activestate.com/komodo-edit) and I won’t switch to anything else too soon. For me is better than n++ and even dw.

You should give it a try.
