About a month ago I saw this post and started working on a new template. Its done now and has been done for a few weeks but I’ve been waiting for the contest to surface.

I just wish it wasn’t coded with the Prototype library. It always throws me for a split second when I see that listed when checking the scripts on a template. Picky picky, I know, but oh well.

Yea, his image replacement technique should be tossed even before you get to the CSS .

He says to use:

and we all know non-semantic markup is bad. boooo to empty spans when they aren’t explicitly needed.

I’ve been submitting a theme or two in the past few days so I’ve been watching the upload number and it seems like there are about 10 uploaded per day. I’m sure a bunch of those get shot down but a couple per day are still making it through, which seems like a decent pace.

Oh, I read that wrong. I thought you meant the query_posts was working but ruining the rest of the page.

Here is the exact snippet from my template that shows how I do it. I don’t have time to troubleshoot your code, but if you compare it to this you should be able to find the problem:

(it looks like you dont both need IF have post and WHILE have posts)

When you use query_posts it affects the loops that come after it. You need to preserve the original loop if you still want to use it. Look up info about rewind_posts(), that should help…

When they finally decided to quit selling it somehow my friend got an invite to come pick up a truckload of the stuff straight from the distributor. He borrowed a truck and made the trip and came back with cases and cases and cases of the stuff.
