......and we’re back. 35 minutes early. I am awesome.
Sorry for the inconvenience, guys!
About showing the two prices…
The $2 surcharge is to cover the extra processing charge. Normally the Paypal fees are spread over several purchases for ‘prepaid’ deposits. As mentioned, the $2 is split with the author using the normal rates.
In the listing pages we list the buy-now price and the prepaid price. We know this is ugly but it is also fairly unavoidable.
We can’t show just the lower price because then inexperienced buyers will get a nasty surprise if they choose a $3 item and then suddenly it is $5 when they go to buy it. It would feel like false advertising.
We can’t show just the higher price because then inexperienced buyers will not know that they can actually get the item $2 cheaper if they are willing to deposit a larger amount. That will hurt sales.
As Collis said, there is plenty more work planned on this feature and we released it early so we get all of the feedback that has been put forward in this thread. What we can say is that the feature is already a success because lots of buyers are already using it. In the long term this is going to be a great thing for authors because it is probably the greatest single thing that we could do to improve sales for everyone across the board. Already it is working, less than a day after launching it.
Wait… this $2 goes to us authors or Envato?
It is split between Envato and the author using the normal rates.
A little embarrassing. Stu caught me practising some soulful Metal licks this morning in the Envato fire-escape:
will flashden.net disapear soon? because I have all my portfolio links to flashden.net/.... I’m not reffering to refferals, but to my portfolio items that I post at the end of each item description. Thanks.I will update all item descriptions and author portfolio links very shortly.

will there be a redirect on flashden.net or will it become deactivated in the future? ie will our Adobe Exchange links stop working after a while if they’re pointing to flashden.net?
There will be a redirect, but I cannot guarantee for how long. Please update your AE links.
As you know, we have switched flashden.net to activeden.net. The biggest thing that authors can do to help make sure that their sales stay strong with the new domain name is to update your referral links on your blogs and web-sites to point to the new domain. New referral graphics are on the referral program page.
A large percentage of our sales comes from new users so we need to make sure that users can find us. Thanks!
Seems they just fixed it
Yes they have. Thanks for your patience, everyone.
