It’s also worth remembering that half the trouble is those actually buying the themes themselves, for what little price they are, and sharing them with the “community” for free.
Thanks guys for your prompt replies – What about password protection for select pages – is that possible in wordpress? – i’ve never used wordpress before.
There’s built in functionality for this already – http://codex.wordpress.org/Content_Visibility
If you’d like some help in implementing such plugins and functionality, I’d be more than happy to help out. Just flick me an email on my profile page.
As to not violate forum rules and plug another author’s work, I’ll just say that your best bet would be a WordPress theme, using some of the premium plugins from Codecanyon for functionality like calendars. Otherwise, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding a suitable theme with a slider and suitable widgetized areas. Start with some of the more popular items and authors, and you should eventually hit the spot.
You know, this brings up an interesting point – one that’s all the rage elsewhere on the internet. How about a splash page category? It would compliment both the under construction and full-size templates well.
That’s an awesome business card in my eyes, worthy of at the least inclusion in the market place. Hope the revisions come to fruition.
Thanks and good luck!
Finally, when I take a look to the bottom (footer), as a customer of Kriesi’s themes (display in particular), I see an almost identical layout and functions. Maybe just shuffle it up to ensure originality.
Hope it helps! And it’s absolutely awesome!
It’s a nice design – if lacking in impact. My only concern is the number of tutorials and “freebies” which this appears to emulate, or vice versa. Something out of the ordinary would lift this design, or a massive range of varients. Hope this helps.
Thanks crozer, and in that case I think it would be best suited as an individual file. But is GR the right place to sell it?
And actually, I don’t think me going with the 2 column style was right in the first place, causes too many problems for everyone.
