That really sucks, many buyers think my plugins are broken because they try to upload the downloaded file to WP and of course it doesn’t work. Authors are losing credibility because of this auto-addition.
yes when i started this thread it wasn’t about licensing but about pricing. And in particular about extended license price that are too low.
Many thanks everyone ! By the way i’m now among top 150 codecanyon best sellers ! Yihaaa !
Amazing, thanks !
what are the specifications of such a plugin ?
I’ll go on a limb here and be rude – seems to me Envato is much more involved in playing around with new services rather than fixing/improving things on stable marketplaces that have been asking for some attention for +3 years. Really don’t see a logic in that …
I think CC top sellers should join the conversation and explain their thoughts on that specific point!
don’t worry it will come. There are some delay to get badges, but you’ll get it!
And coming back to the original message: theme authors don’t get the investment back after 2-3 sales. One of the best-sellers on TF has inside it 4 sliders plugins, one video gallery plugin, one map plugin and much more else. Together they cost a lot. So it takes some time until they get the investment back. But I agree people will buy the theme and will no longer buy the plugin then. Well, the real question is: why a theme should incorporate so many plugins? The styling should be decoupled from functionality, that’s why themes and plugins are separate things.
That’s exactly what i’m saying. TF authors take advantage of the work of CC authors and earn much more money. That’s not fair.
I also in previous messages that plugins are more complex and take more time to be developed, well that depends, but it’s nor a matter of time. Each author has his own libraries, snippets and methods to quickly create something. The goal of this topic is to point the fact that when TF include our items in their themes we really lose buyers while they get more, and that really sucks.
Maybe someone from Envato could join the conversation and share his/her thoughts?
