Yoohoo! a t-shirt would be great!
A second monitor for my iMac 21.5”
For some reason i think users should be able to rate 2 things. Theme quality and the author seperately. From what i see there are amazing themes in TF but their authors are rude and vice versa.
Just my $0,02
That’s the spirit Got rejected 4 – 5 times before the first theme appeared in TF.
I guess you have already calmed down and already working either to improve this theme or working on something more unique
Hm here are a few issues.
1. How many fonts are u using throughout the template? You should keep your fonts to a minimum. With one or two fonts you can do miracles. You don’t need 3 or 4.
2. The elements on the slider look “old”. There’s a slide with the text “Responsive design” which has a blue background but a blue completely irrelevant with the rest of the blue on other elements (like the main nav)
3. The main navigation doesn’t have enough contrast. On my screen (an iMac) i’m having a hard time reading the options
4. Spacing. Make sure the space between various areas of your site are the same. Not only horizontally but vertically as well.
Best of luck and if you try harder you can have this accepted
Visual hierarchy, spacing, typography.
You can only get better by these rejections. Don’t take it personally, you will only improve if you try harder
Yeah i’d start with typography. Make sure you create a hierarchy and stick with it. Also pay attention to spacing. Not spacing in general, make sure the various groups of elements around your template have consistent spacing and let your text, headers etc have some space around them.
The web is a fluid medium now (well it always was like that, the technology didn’t allow it) so make sure at least the desktop version to guide your users. Hope it helps
The funniest thing that happened on one html site template is that i had the olark live chat code installed on the preview. This live chat thingy shows you which page the user currently view including the IP and the path of the page.
So i could see who was using a stolen copy because the path is like C:\Themes\Theme_name\index.html and of course i was initiating a chat with them like “alright then, just remove the live chat code at least” hah. Funny and provides some insights about the number of people who have downloaded the template
Best storage ever. I bought the 50gb a few months ago and then Dropbox increased the storage to 100gb (i think they did it to all accounts).
Every single project (theme, client work etc) is in there
