EDIT – oh, BTW the Apogee Duet would be a no brainer in my opinion if you only needed 2 channels and you’re recording into a Mac. It’s a very very nice sounding interface.
I have got the Apogee Quartet best of both worlds fidelity with more i/o. Excellent converters and I use a great aussie 4ch pre called a Sebatron for me its a match made in heaven
I just ordered my upgrade from 8 to 9 it was an offer too good to refuse Definitely some nice additions and well worth it in my opinion. I agree with pictureand sound, the additional libraries are the real drawcard but it also includes some new synths, some stand alone plugins and plenty of new sounds.
Congrats – well deserved!
Envato marketplaces are easier to navigate now so it’s a +1 from me
Great achievement – all the more so with 5 items
I would really appreciate the communities thoughts on branding (or should I say rebranding)
I have been on AJ for exactly a year and looking to take it to the next level ie going part time next year to spend more time producing. I am thinking before I go any further to rename and create a distinct brand. I have got a logo ready but think my name sucks and most importantly has nothing to do with my logo image.
Yes I have taken into account the significant task I am giving myself eg changing links on YT, SC etc
I am seriously in a dilemma about this as I know any change is a risk for the followers I have already not just on AJ but also the social media world, but really want to sharpen my online image – and it’s now or never. Anyone want to pitch in with comment/feedback/cautionary tale?
Those are great questions! For me it comes down to setting goals and sticking to them, which of course is easier said than done
When it comes to choosing a project I usually go with what is inspiring me and what I have the best ideas for, but also being guided by what is in demand (eg Christmas themes). It’s taken me a while to develop a ‘pro’ work ethic with this whole music production game but I have learned to see a project through most of the time. I value music education so much because it gives you the tools to work stuff out even when the ideas are not flowing. Only if I am wasting too much time (days) will I put a track aside and come back to it later
I have found as my music ability and understanding of music theory has got better I am more able to find that ‘lost chord’ or turn a bland melody into something catchy. What does this mean? Relying less on inspiration and using your knowledge to create a finsished product. It is tough sometimes when you hit a wall (creatively speaking) to keep pushing through, but the rewards are well worth it. Hope this helps!
One sale on 1st – always a good way to start the month
I uploaded a track last night and it immediately went to 80-90% overtaking a track I had In the queue for 4 days – now which one will win this race????
It’s a sad truth that six out of the seven dwarfs are not happy…
