With that said, it’s a sad state of web development when a slider is required for a theme to be approved.

This why I am asking, you are completely correct. I’d hate to say it but seems like templates bundled with premium items are getting approval over templates without. I know I just knocked down the hornets nest with that comment but it’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it.

I think I will purchase Slider Revolution, Thanks for the input.

Looking for some personal experience on JS Sliders from CC. Slider Revolution so far seems to be the best as far as text/caption transitions go.

Does anyone have any input on which one I should purchase? (Not for WP) Looking for something responsive, easy to implement and nice effects to implement into my next theme for sale.

Thanks.

I’m new here and It’s extremely frustrating but I have learned to keep quiet about a lot of stuff.

My last 7 or 8 submissions were all reviewed by the same reviewer who rejected everyone. Only to see other templates with similar structure getting approved. After submitting a support ticket to complain, guess who answered it? Yep the same reviewer.

I have been told to familiarize myself with the most popular templates only to be told in the same email ‘we have to draw the line somewhere’. Its frustrating but just keep plugging away.

1. Don’t get frustrated with a 1st time reject, it happens to the best of us. Just keep trying. 2. You received the same response all of us have hundred times over (reviewers need to be more specific in my mind).

Theme seems a little ‘plain’ and typography seems to be all over the place, try some different colors for headlines and sub headlines. Just seems like to much ‘grey’.

I see it’s a responsive approach although I’m also getting a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom in Mozilla, might just be me though. Overall it’s a great start. Keep up the good work.

:::rubbing the almighty genie lamp::: My wish: Reviewers on TF to get some new “copy & paste script reply’s” to let me know my template was rejected, rather then seeing the same:
  • ’...template isn’t quite ready for ThemeForest and requires significant improvements’
  • ’...There are a few inconsistent spacing/padding as well as alignment issues throughout the design.’
  • ’...I’d like you to go over it with a fine toothed comb’

+1 for me

Personally I think Envato should consider changing the whole homepage layout itself. Some may not agree but I think designers are spending more time designing a catchy thumbnail then anything.

ontopic: When you’re using the theme on multiple clients
This is inaccurate. The Extended License does not cover multi-use. Envato does not offer developer/multi-use license at this time.

Little off topic (not really) but say i wanted to purchase a slider from code canyon to add to my themes I sell on TF. Would I have to buy an extended license for every theme I include it in?

I agree with the first poster about it looking generic. However, if you ask me there are loads of templates on TF that look generic and somehow got approved. I haven’t taken the time to create and upload any of my own themes for this very reason. I have a hard time distinguishing what will and will not make the cut here.

I agree totally, what is very confusing is getting a template rejected and the reviewer telling you to “familiarize yourself with popular items on TF” then in the same reject email they tell you they “have to draw the line somewhere on similar structures”...
