This License ID seems brilliant and I think is the future. Just sent a quick message over to audiosocket and got an email back immediately…

It will probably be later in 2015 when any individual can use LID. Our first integrations are being done with catalogs so we can really work out the kinks at scale and then build this for anyone to use. We too believe LicenseID or similar is long overdue for our industry!”I’d say Envato would be smart to jump on the opportunity of possibly being one of the first libraries outside of Audiosocket to try and integrate this into their system. Seems like a real game changer to me!

@PurpleFogSound: I accidently stumbled upon this, but this indeed looks like it could be the solution.
As many have pointed out, the term Royalty Free doesn’t mean Copyright “Free”. When You buy a licence You get exactly that, a licence to use copyrighted material. We need to protect our copyright against illegal usage. At first I was really against AdRev and thought I would never use such system until I had the same situation as E-soundtrax. Basically, one day I woke up to bunch of email from customers that the music in their video is claimed by not one but two different (unscrupulous) people. Two different people basically took my track and registered as their own and collected revenues. It took me MONTHS to sort out this mess proving that in fact I am the copyright holder and to release the claims on my legal buyer’s videos. In the end I had to fingerprint my music, because if I don’t, I figured, someone else will. Now this copyright theft had happened on many occasions, one of which was a product from VideoCopilot... So yeah, I believe more and more authors and libraries are going to adopt this technology. It is now up to YT and AdRev and similar services to smooth out the process for the end user…
Watching the other videos I get a feeling this is a must have upgrade! From VCA faders, to bounce-in-place and chord editor in the key editor and many workflow improvements I think this is well worth it
