Oh lol, sorry I just re-read your original wording – I didn’t realize you were pimping yourself. But don’t you worry, I’ve been quietly working. I’m going to finish about 5 themes before I start posting them. It’ll be raining themes all over Theme Blvd in no time ;-)

Well I’m not pimping myself…. yet…

This might be a ‘vacation project’ around the holidays ;)

I recently did this and it took forever. After my experience I would try to avoid this scenario at all costs and start with the HTML version first if you plan to release both. As far as services available, there may be someone you can pay but as far as tools that simply make pretty code I looked and couldn’t find anything that was worth using.

That’s why I thought I’d bring it up. There aren’t any tools to help. You have to get in there and do it yourself… There are tons of places that do Photoshop to WP or HTML to WP, but not the opposite direction.

I’m just completely scrapping HTML themes. In all the time spent supporting and making documentation, marketing materials, etc for the HTML themes, I can be making more WP themes. For fun, you should check out posting on a site like Elance. I used to use this service for some other stuff, and it’s really more reliable than you might think. It’s kind of like ebay, where every freelancer can get ruined by any one or two bad reviews by clients. So, you know you won’t get screwed over. I bet you could get someone to make the HTML theme really cheap, but would you want to risk your rep posting something you didn’t make on TF? Depends I guess.

Well I was thinking the other way around, doing it for TF authors, rather than having people do it for me. If it was worth my time and cheap enough for you to use it, knowing that a fellow TF author is doing it, it might be a win/win.

BTW , where the Hell have you been?

I know many authors here will have an WP theme for sale and then make an HTML version of it as well. It seems the best way is to do a simple ‘view source’ and copy and clean the code, make header and footer includes, and wrap it up. It’s easy, but it’s a pain in the neck.

I was wondering, if there was a service out there that took care of this for you, would you use it and how much would you pay (if anything) to do so?

I recently moved to a new neighborhood and there’s always a bunch of kids playing outside so I thought I’d better get some candy. But last night I watched them get into a car in their costumes and drive off somewhere so they must have went to a bigger neighborhood. So not a single kid came and now I’m stuck with a bowl of candy and I’m supposed to be on a diet :D

To me, it sounds like the best possible scenario happened. ;)

This was my costume this year, unfortunately the mustache had fallen off by this time of the night.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to create the vector artwork in the application Adobe created specifically for that purpose?

Not when I don’t know my way around Illustrator, yet I know Photoshop like the back of my hand.

I don’t consider myself a logo designer by any means, I just wanted to weigh on this subject ;)
