It’s been a year. I’ve halted my purchases for awhile because it got really annoying that I’d have some random amount like $3 left, but I’d want to buy something for $7, and would have to spend $20 for a $3 deficit? $17 held ransom for no reason? So I popped back in, having missed the envato family and nope, no fix. No ability to top off the difference between an existing balance and a purchase, nor any move towards allowing smaller increment of say $10, where you’d never really HAVE to have more than $9 held hostage at a time.

I know the prices are nice. I know it’s good stuff. But this is no way to do business in $2014. It just isn’t. It’s ridiculous. And although it gives them a nice amount of money that they are getting interest on as it sit there (I wonder how legal that is), it doesn’t make me buy more. It has the opposite effect. Instead of bopping in and picking up 2 things at a time, I can’t buy the 1 thing I want until I can pick 3 other things to get me to $20 so that I’m not getting screwed.

It’s ridiculous, it’s unacceptable.

Still want a way to add a 2nd payment method if what you want to purchase exceeds your balance, so that you can actually zero out your balance instead of spending $20 because you’re $1 short, or having a random amount of money sitting there because you have to mentally collect a couple of purchases in your head to equal your new balance AFTER having to deposit $20. It’s ridiculous and makes me purchase less, not more. The prices here are great, but the purchasing mechanism sucks. If they won’t implement this, they need smaller increments so that you never have too much left over money. I don’t feel like giving interest-free loans to stores I purchase from.

That’s so sensible! That way you actually REWARD good customers instead of punishing them. People can opt to buy more things rather than less in order to avoid some screwy amount that leaves too much left over in purgatory. When will you fix this?

Hmm. Here’s a thought:

dollar increments after a minimum solves the credit card fees. Okay, good. Now we can buy more expensive and complete themes on themeforest and activeden. But, what about those less useful, and cheaper themes on graphic river? $2, $3 seems too little to do increments due to credit card fees. I think envato is trying to get people to pay more for bigger themes and let the extra be spent on smaller, lower profile themes.

Just a thought.

So it’s 4 years later and they still haven’t fixed this at all. I have $4 credit, just added up what I want to buy and it’ll be $45. I’ll be $1 short of $9 over, just sitting there forever, since there is no way to add just a little and noway to get your money back. This is BBB worthy – holding people’s money hostage since sometimes it’s simply unusable due to the way the dominations are made. You can never cash except by accident. So I’m going to not buy one thing so I can just deposit $40, but they just lost a $5 sale from me. Doesn’t make sense.

Anyone else a little annoyed at the current payment options? I need to deposit exactly $25.00 for the theme I want, yet on the payment options page you can either deposit $20 or $30 ($10 increments). This is extremely annoying to me – since TF.net states any unused funds will expire after one year…

Point being I’m not just going to deposit $30, use $25 of it and “donate” $5.00 to TF.net

I apologize if I am missing something – but it seems like I’m (we are) getting nickle and dimed on this one. Again please point it out if I am overlooking something.

cal :(

Nice to see customers are taken seriously. Thanks for the update!

Thanks for your thoughts, taking the time to tell your story and help me feel the pain :) I agree this needs to get better. There’s some other stuff we want to fix in the purchase process over the ne3xt few months, have made a note to consider this at the same time. Thanks again!

There very few on the market (not many) and they cost a gazillion dollars, like $300, and lots of sites that take a cut just for doing this functionality. I’m looking for a way to show clients photos (if the program adds a watermark overlay, that’s excellent, but if not, the photographer can do it themselves), and let them pick photos in different sizes and quantities and checkout with paypal. It’d be important that the photos couldn’t be downloaded or right-clicked or dragged out of the window. It could be a wordpress plugin or just some PHP script or whatever, but it’s a super popular and needed thing. Whomever wrote this could probably sell a crapload of this. I’ve already use Envato to avoid crappy subscription based software successfully, and it’d be great if that could be something sold here too. If you want an example of the functionality, check out instaproofs.com.

I’m sick of the ridiculous denominations that you have to deposit money in. I’ve always deposited $30 or $40 at a time no problem and am a good customer, but right now I have a $14 credit and want to buy something that is $15. So since it won’t let me apply ANY of my $14, I either have to pay $15+$2 for paypal out of pocket and let the $14 hang around randomly, or add $20 and leave another $19 that’s probably going to screw me again when I want to buy something for $20. I understand that it’s supposed to cause repeat cusomers and customer loyalty, but it’s having the reverse effect. I think once I use my whole balance, I’m only going to purchase one-offs via papal, realizing that I’m getting screwed $2 at a time, but it’s way better than getting screwed $19 at a time. This is maybe the 4th time this has happened and unless you allow people to use ALL their credit and if they want to pay JUST THE REMAINDER with paypal, even if they get charged an extra $2, it’s still better. If that worked, I’d be spending $3 over my balance, whereas right now, I’m obligated to spend either $17 or $20. Argh! Consider adding $15 and $20 increments AND/OR letting people drain their balance and pay remainder with paypal, otherwise, it’s a BBB complaint waiting to happen when someone’s done purchasing from your site forever and can’t get their money out, since it’d require exact change every time.

I need a script to let volunteers sign up for certain time-slots and/or type their name next to a dish, or type a dish next to their name (I’d set up the initial form). There is a big hole in the market for this. There are a bunch of websites popping up like this: www.signupgenius.com or www.jooners.com or volunteerspot.com

But not any self-contained scripts or anything that you could host on your own website to help your particular organization manage signups and volunteer shifts.

Does anyone know of any? There is exactly ONE thing I found that could be like this on CodeCanyon called Collab something or other, but the demo doesn’t work, and I think it still wasn’t 100% what I wanted, it just had the possibility of maybe working out.
