Therefore I think most buyers still go the “menu: files -> popular files” route.

I hope so! I wasn’t aware of this! Thanks! :)

So you track the top authors sales and you do not track mine? :nerdy:

:D

DS I disagree with you! And I see your smiling face. I think when you personally do not like something you’ll rant here on the forums. Once when something is benefiting you’ll say yes nothing changed. Yes maybe you do not sell your old files but having this in the way how it works now… helps the owners of the old files… to gain more traffic… eventually is benefiting their new files! ;)

Seems to be a negligible traffic gain because…. nothing really changed in terms of sales :)

I think most buyers still click the menu: files -> popular files

you man are a HUGE exception. New files constantly, nice support and top-notch services all the way around.

Your newest file: 14 January 11

The sells will keep same (almost) that’s without a doubt. The question is how easy is to find new popular file. The answer is: difficult. :)

so no gain due to the extra exposure
well, not a surprise
Well old files are not selling with new exposure, popular files are still selling.. so pretty much the same as before

the fact is that I could not find the weekly popular files in the last 2 weeks and if I do not know, guess what… the customers do not know as well. Yes the new files are selling because the site still has that functionality to order files by date… but what about a file published 3-4 weeks ago not on the home page. The customers have to dig more to get what they were able using the Popular Files button.

Thank you Lance for this:

Probably they know and we don’t know :P
how are sales on your top sellers VF ? did you notice some more since the update ?
I have a few files in that list, but not noticing any change in sales.

and in the same time there is no link to the weekly popular files. So the mess is complete. Old files not selling, the new good files are hard to find. Make your bet! The customers spend more time to find whats new and good, and are confused!

Now lets live for the statistic!

^ I believe they do it this 14 days thing to improve the weekly popular page.

well I understand they want to improve something. But why not keeping at the same time one simple link Weekly Popular Files? so simple… do your new thing and keep the old…

Not having the page http://activeden.net/page/top_sellers means so many things:

1. Lower the quality standards – not yours but the one in our customer’ eye. – cos they see the old files first

2. Promote outdated files

3. Make BIG fat joke out of the hard work of our new authors and those who have really great files.

4. And so on, so on… really need an explanation. You have 2 links in the bottom. Why not 3 so we still have the Weekly popular files? Why so drastic changes are done without discussing here? I can’t get it!

Just one thing to say, weekly top sellers is necessary.

I can’t believe we do not have this page back: activeden.net/page/top_sellers

You have your statistic guys! I do not mind if you do your math behind the curtain. But having this page:

http://activeden.net/author/top_authors, instead this: http://activeden.net/page/top_sellers is a 14 days disaster for the new files.

I’m really frustrated even if I do not have published a single file in the last year.

If you could see the difference and explain to me WHY you did it I’ll agree sooo:

For Weekly Popular files we have this:

http://activeden.net/author/top_authors VS. http://activeden.net/page/top_sellers

you tell. maybe I am stupid or what?

wonderful! Original style and hard work!

In a single month from 1000 to 2000 sells is simply amazing.

I’m curious what are you going to upload for St. Valentine and Easter.

Love your work man! Good luck and Happy New Year!
