Why have envato used this opportunity to change FD`s focus?

if the m%$$£$ f%$%% adobe gorilla enter in the this business you will need to find alternative markets. What’s most disturbing its, that adobe didn’t “see” the opportunity till someone else get successfully. More precisely they don’t want to risk the money till someone else open the road. That’s called farwest. Someone make great sacrifice, pioneering a business, then bam someone with lots of money arrive and get all the share.

But they are afraid of competition and they want to destroy it. That a bad sign, means the marketplace adobe want to open will not offer to the buyers and authors better solution that the one that exist here. So they are afraid they will fail miserably. Off curse they will not take in account to actually make a better place, its more easy to destroy what already exist. This business model its actually very common.

you can never be to careful with words. You just sit around for years with a word like, let’s say flash, then at one moment, bum a gorilla enters the room and strip it off from you. Yeah, you can never be to careful.

great idea, envato change the name from ActiveDen to DoruDen, you have my permission. just trow a 1% of all sales for five years as a little reward.

They don’t expect everyone to stop using “photoshop” as a verb, but unless they make a show of trying to enforce it they could lose the trademark rights to it. Many a company has lost its trademark by being lax in its enforcement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genericized_trademark.

Its amazing how some people will so readily believe this.. They are not trying to protect their trademark or every site above FD in google for “Flash” would have been targeted first.

Envato lawyers should probably know what they doing, but more I think about it, I just get this feeling that you’ve got scammed by adobe with a so big inconsistency claim. I’m sure the adobe lawyers just throw out a wild party when they find out your decision.

Don’t get me wrong, its your business and you can do whatever you may want with it. If you manage to bring it till this point and have the success you had now certainly you know what you’re doing.
