I don’t think this extra income could compensate the expectations and demands of those who paid for support.

So let’s say my item cost $58.00.

In above example, you mentioned that additional support will cost an item a total of $100.00.

In the past, you also mentioned that you will received 30% commission.

So the equation is:

$100 (total item cost) – $58 (real item cost) = $42 – ($42 * 0.30 (Envato’s Commision))

In the end, we authors received $29.4. Is this correct?

If I choose to support my item for $29.4 for 6 months. I’ll rather do it for free. Why? The answer is simple. I won’t be tied to any obligations and demands. Let’s face it, buyers will think they own you for this amount and any delays in response will cost you 1 star rating.

I would rather update my products regularly and provide bug fixes since it is my responsibility as an author and as a developer.

But some guys owning my time for $29 bucks? No thanks :)

So far 1000+ sales and no angry buyers aside from some guy who rated my item 1 for no reason at all. lol
I guess if envato provides support tools and removes unnecessary ratings, this could work out. So, it is better to get paid for going extra mile rather than doing it for free.

Well the problem here is the length of that extra mile. I could never consider 6 months of paid support an extra mile :)

Try changing the ini value at run time by pasting the ff. code in your child theme’s function file (function.php):

<?php
memory_limit('memory_limit', '256M');
memory_limit('max_execution_time', '600');
memory_limit('max_input_time', '500');
?>

However, I’m not sure if it will work or not. Just trying to help.

Cheers!

Does anyone notice a dramatic increase in their item’s analytics page? This is so surprising and I don’t know where the traffic is coming from. Maybe its a kind of an Envato Marketing?

What I don’t understand is I got a spike of visit these past couple of days and the sales are way too low compare to those previous days this week which have lesser visits. XD

Maybe buyers are scared of the red banner.
