I think I have created the action I want to use in my next item.

Since you all are fellow authors in good standing…

Would any of you guys be interested in beta testing it for me? It would be much appreciated. Please PM me.

These are both great tips. I would have never thought of them on my own. Thanks mudi and IA.

Any more out there?

Hey fellow authors,

I finally have another idea for a mockup in the works, but it will need me to create a PShop action for a specialized task. I am pretty good with creating actions for myself, but they suck on other machines.

Could one, or several of you guys help me out and give me some tips on creating actions that are better suited for computers and software that may not be in my language? Or… how to create internationally compatible PS actions?

I have googled with little luck, and would appreciate some ideas here or links to tuts.

Thanks in advance!

D

As they are saying it in some of the comedy shows….call it “Superb Owl” to be free of any copyright lawsuits.

However, there are the strange one star ratings
It’s just when buyer purchase item without any skills, unpack and try to install/start even without reading documentation, get error, becomes angry, put 1 star, write in comments – “not working!”. After few days/hours he read docs, comments, and all works, he write – “nevermind! all works now”. It’s only one explanation for me.

This is probably more true than the idea that other authors are wasting good money to sabotage my work. But I always think the world is out to get me. :D

I think most people who purchase are sincere with their ratings and I take great pride in the fact that my (2) items are well reviewed. However, there are the strange one star ratings that make me wonder if other authors aren’t purposely buying and rating poorly just to bring down an items average. (I am not convinced of this, however.)

I would suggest that perhaps 1 rating from both the highest and lowest be removed before the average is determined. This would eliminate anomalies from being factored in.

I think people in general think any type of design is easy and worth nothing. I have designed and implemented several websites (but it is not my focus) but have always avoided being an official webmaster. Not just because I don’t care for that particular career, but I found that it was a colossal ass-pain. Clients would always be requesting “quick fixes” that they claimed would only take 5 minutes. And then the rate discussion would turn into them wondering why I just couldn’t just do it for free because it was such a quick fix. I finally decided that if they wanted a webmaster, than I would do it if they put me on a retainer. Like a lawyer. That went nowhere, but that was fine with me.

It is quite sad. I often wonder why clients would never consider walking into a dentist’s office needing dental surgery and saying that their budget is only $200, but have absolutely no difficulty starting a design project that way.
