Now I’m not saying that it’s just your fault – if someone says his product does X and Y, Envato should make sure it’s true. And yes, in a perfect world, you wouldn’t need to worry about statements being true.
But we don’t live in such a world, so a simple check on your side will make sure nothing like what you said happens

This is a wholly unrealistic expectation to have of buyers, when these checks have supposedly been carried out already as part of the approvals process.

I’d also add, a LOT of themes I’ve purchased recently claim to support some of the older browsers (ie8). However, if you actually purchase them and start to try and use the theme, you quickly discover there are a huge number of problems with older browsers.

Can we get an official response on this, it’s such an irritant every time I use the site. Judging by the comments here, I’m not the only one that would like to see this ‘feature’ removed.

Yeah sure, £1,000. This is based on the solid principle that SOMETHING takes SOME TIME to design and develop.

I’ll make a prediction right now, neither party will end up happy.

Starting from scratch is a blank piece of paper, an empty canvas.

A photoshop design isn’t starting from scratch. Coding that design up won’t improve it.

This is a million miles away from the standard required to get approval on Themeforest. Spend a lot of time browsing the best selling themes to get an understanding of what’s required.

Personally:

I check every day for new items that might be suitable for projects I’m working on. I completely ignore anything joomla/magento/ecommerce related, they’re of no interest to me personally. The more cutting edge/unique the theme is, the better.

If an item has 3 stars or less, I won’t even consider it.

Items of highest interest: Wordpress.

Check for buyer comments to see if there are any potential issues or negative comments.
