1. Those theme’s are NO WHERE NEAR good enough for themeforest, and would have been rejected by any other author.
2. They are massively overpriced.
Really poor consistency in terms of equality for authors. As a regular buyer, I wouldn’t dream of buying those tired/dated/overpriced themes.
And why should people follow you on Twitter and Facebook? Shouldn’t the invite go to the person that has the best skills? It’s a shameless self-promotion.
It’s pathetic the way people keep creating ‘competitions’ and forcing people to follow them on social channels.
It’s not what the invitation system was designed for – it was to pass invites on to talent.
Sorry to put a downer on it, but in my honest opinion …
As someone who’s getting married in 6 months and would love to find and setup a terrific theme for it. Most (not quite all) of the wedding theme entries really feel like the First 15 Wedding Themes & Templates submitted, rather than 15 top quality themes that have been accepted into the marketplace because they were well considered and awesome.
Most of them feel really rushed and lack a unique style and high quality aesthetic.
Again, sorry, but this is how it feels – and I’m a hugely regular buyer.
Also, I have noticed that the buyers can change the ratings at any point of time. I feel the ratings should be locked once the item has been rated. You should never allow the user to change the ratings, once done.
I disagree. Sometimes I’ve bought an item, everything’s looked great – rated it highly – then somewhere down the line it turns out there are fundamental flaws in the theme/script that render it useless.
Boom! Rating changed.
“Great idea guys, based on your feedback we’re going to implement this asap!”
Said no-one at envato ever.
It’s pointless making these suggestions here, they don’t get implemented. Just look at the things like the abysmal search functionality – how many years has that been completely useless for? This kind of thread pops up once ever other week ..
P.S. There should be a 12 or 24 hour window for obtaining an automatic refund from the time you first download it.
This would get abused endlessly..- Ed
Just because you and Ed might abuse the system, does not mean the rest of us would. Yet, you believe we should all have to deal with substandard themes and have to wait for Support to refund after they “investigate”? What will they “investigate”? It’s right there in the comments of the theme from multiple users having issues. Also, it wouldn’t be an issue if “Envato” had screened the theme better in the first place, so my faith in Envato’s ability to “investigate” these issues is a little short.
There are ways to activate and lock down themes to help alleviate these issues, by the way. If I don’t have a “purchase”, you can lock down a theme to where it won’t work. This would keep people from potentially abusing the system, as it were. So, I’m just trying to point out that the current system leaves a lot to be desired. If Envato isn’t going to screen and keep the theme developers in line and the products Envato sells being 100% functional without the need to get support right after a purchase, because the features that are advertised are non-functional, then there needs to be a better refund / licensing / activation system.P.S. This isn’t Google+. That +1 won’t do anything.
Isn’t it obvious? Your theme doesn’t include loads of pictures of really hot women!
I need a plugin/script created for my company’s site that does the following (below), and am wondering if anyone knows if one already exists – or if not, how much it would cost to develop. The site is built on Wordpress.
Script needed to:
- The site has about 20 pdf’s that can be downloaded by visitors
- User tries to download one and must complete a simple form (name/phone/email/heard about us/comments) in order to gain access
- User then receives the pdf via email (which also blind cc’s us, so we get their contact details and are aware of the download)
- User then (via cookie) can download any of the pdf’s on our site without needing to input details again
- Any time he downloads one, we get the contact details AND notification of which pdf he chose to download – again, via email
Essentially we have this at the moment, users download pdf’s and we get notified – however, they have to re-input their info for every pdf they want to download, which is really bad .
