I’m not pointing fingers at anybody, I’m just asking if this has happened to anyone
Anyone besides me notice REPEATEDLY how an item will get approved a day or two before your own item (we all know it takes 5 days to get approved) with the exact same concept as yours on an original idea and almost the exact same wording from your file?
When I say “exact same concept” I DON ’T mean “XML Gallery” – I’m talking about original ideas that have never been done before on FlashDen, and there just COINCIDENTALLY happens to be the exact same concept approved a day or two before yours on EACH TIME YOU UPLOADED SOMETHING ?
Also, it’s always by a random member who joined several months ago and has absolutely NOTHING ELSE in their portfolio…
Also, “their” version is a watered down version of your component which could easily be thrown together in a few hours (it’s never an “alternative” version or “more advanced” version, but always a simple, much more basic version of your component)...
If it was a gallery or music player, it would blend right in. But when they’re original ideas and they appear a day or two before yours EACH TIME YOU SUBMIT SOMETHING , it starts to look fishy!
I wish FlashDen would take emoticons off the Forum. ( IE 8 ) becomes ( IE smiley face with sunglasses on ) .
Internet Explorer 8 (IE8)... it has a button that looks like a torn piece of paper called “Compatibility View: websites designed for older browsers will often look better, and problems such as out-of-place menus, images, or text will be corrected.”
Well, OF COURSE websites are designed for older browsers, IE 8 is brand new! If they know it’s not going to look right, they need to just make it look right to begin with, without having to click a button. That’s like saying,”Hi, I suck. Click this button so I won’t suck any more.”
Why do I need IE8 as a Flash developer?
I am responding to your request on FlashDen.net for a photo gallery (listed below). I have extensive Flash skills as well as Customer Service skills. I’m sure I can more than accomodate you with your needs.

I look forward to hearing from you. (I am located in North America)
Ha ha! Just as I was pulling out my very last hair, I got an update notification to upgrade to Firefox 3 when I opened Firefox 2. So I download it and installed it, and that fixed the full screen loadMovie problem!
That’s good enough for me!
I created a full screen toggle button, which works great with IE 7 , FireFox and Safari (haven’t tried any other browsers).
When I’m NOT in full screen mode, I click a thumbnail to load a photo (.jpg) and it loads fine in ALL the browsers.
When I AM in full screen mode in Firefox or Safari and I click a thumbnail, the photo will NOT load, until I EXIT full screen mode (by clicking the fullscreen togglt button I created) and then it loads! ~:|
NOTE : I’ve used every possible variation of “load” and they ALL work fine, until I click my “full screen” button (which I created in Flash) and go into full screen mode. Then, IE 7 works, but Firefox and Safari WON ’T LOAD A JPG !
Anyone know why?
That’s great! But… I wish there was an option to upload an SWF for the Full Screen Preview link. When I’ve tried to do that with the preview file, it doesn’t get linked to the full screen page provided in the preview ZIP (index.html) – I would link it to my own site, but that would make the SWF availble for downloading, and I don’t know how to encrypt the SWF ’s.
