If they are going to improve product threads it should be for everyone and not just for elite authors …
You’ll get no disagreement out of me, I just figured this is as good a time as any to make another request for this (hence the poking)
If one of the reasons this has been delayed though is server impact, it might actually make sense to roll it out across a small sample of author accounts… still, the obvious problem here is a discontinuous UI on the site. Customers getting to search one thread and not another is confusing as all getout… but it’s definitely time to get the ball rolling on this one if it isn’t already. I get at least 2 comments a day requesting a search function that’s specific to one product.
Not a bad trade-off if you ask me – Badges are an awesome little addition to the items! The price changes were a neat idea, but I didn’t use it more than once.
Idea 01: Searchable (or at least improved) product threads for Elite authors.
I hate sending users off-site for support, and it just seems like a strange practice if the sales are all based here. Plus, it’s one of the top requested features from users.
Idea 02: A TF community jobs board where customers can post customization requests with budgets for individual freelancers to take on.
Poke, poke

You interested in more work Rob? Holler via my profile page if you are – I don’t do custom installs right now, but I’m always looking for skilled and honest peeps to feed work to
I just picked up the Dell 15z… it’s incredible. Meets your specs (i7, 8gb, 525GT vid card), has an outstanding quality 1080p screen, and is thin and light. The keyboard is great as well – backlit chiclets that feel nice to type on.
I was original in the hunt for an Alienware m17x R3 as a true “workstation”, but the weight/price/battery combo just didn’t make sense when you consider this one’s a fraction of the weight, half the price, and has upwards of 7-8 hours of usable battery life (versus 2ish on the AW).

Brandon, do you mean this? http://www.screenr.com/6sos You can obviously drag-and-drop, but I think you are mainly referring to mouse-selecting certain areas of code. You can do that by just choosing “Edit as HTML ” and then selecting whatever you want.
Close, but I meant being able to select/copy/paste text from the actual Firebug inspector: http://www.screenr.com/R7os
My Mic is out on loan, but you get the idea – no drag-to-select in Chrome Firebug

I’ve gotta say this is awesome Seven! I never really used Chrome before this aside from browser tests (no reason really, I just liked how Firebug/FireFTP worked better on FF when Chrome first came out), but I’m switching over to Chrome specifically because of this add-onAlready tested it out and started adding my own FAQs to the can!
Great work! Thanks for contributing this to the author community!
Now if we can just get a searchable product discussion thread![]()
Thanks, Brandon! Really glad you’re finding it useful!
Hope you enjoy Chrome, too – personally, it took me a little while to get used to Chrome Developer Tools after making the switch from Firebug, but now I actually like it better.
Enjoy!
Chris
The thing I hated (still hate) about Chrome has nothing to do with the browser (it is a lot faster/snappier than FF), but with the inability to effectively select text from the Firebug plugin using normal drag-to-select/copy/paste methods… I sorted out that you can right-click to Copy HTML , but sometimes I just want a snippet to use in support replies, not the entire HTML element… anyways, I digress – Your add-on is an outstanding help to my support workflow
Keep up the great work Chris!

“What they said”
Please drop me a note from the product thread, I usually get back to all buyers within 24 hours (granted, I took a day or two off over the holidays to hang out with family).
Cheers! Brandon
