Hey I am a plus member. I have a question though is it possible to Download Tumblr? I want to work with it on a localhost but can’t find anything on google.

Also how do we pacakge a tumblr theme? We include images, etc? I would buy one to see how they do it but I don’t know.

I finally got a credit card in my name so I can start selling here at themeforest.

I thought this would be a fun topic.
What was your first purchase? Why did you buy it?

I purchased this Easy Portfolio

I bought it because I was doing a site for a friend. They had no content what so ever. So I thought this would be a good one to use for such small content. There was only one picture in the final though lol. At the time I couldn’t understand sliders myself, so I bought it to see how it worked also.

So yeah that is my first purchase and the reason why I purchased it. We never used it though, the client ‘went away for about 1.5 year and he was a close friend so I made him another site when he came back. He gave me a tip so I was happy.

Yes please use PHP5 . Remember most customers use a shared hosting or some form of managed hosting. How many people have there own dedicated? So there is a strong chance the host will be using the latest php.

  • This is not based on a ny factual evidence, just wrote it as I thought it lol :P

I am no expert in php but I do know some stuff. So here is my idea if it sounds plausible hopefully Envato staff can hire the right guy to do it.

Step One – Lets log http header referrals to a MySQL Database with php

Step Two: Lets create a filter or a bad word class using RegEX.
This will allow us to find bad refers think of it as a bad word filter

Step Three: If the filter is triggered update a MySQL table to 1.
Lets say if your database has a table field called bad. By default make it null or 0. You could also do a email but maybe that wouldn’t be optimal.

Step Four: Cron Jobs. Maybe make a daily log file (only bad ones). You can call the files refer_log_03062010.cgi

What you think?

reasoning – buyers have a life. They only come maybe once to buy a theme. And maybe one more time to post a bug.

they do not visit the marketplace everyday, week, or month. So an email me when updated should be vital.

And an “email me when my purchased item is updated” button (like the email option in the forums) would be great :)

OMG yes Why hasn’t this been implemented yet? Customers first authors second :P

I don’t suggest it. Can be cracked VIA Firebug.

But another resource I thought I share.
