I am using Google Chrome v.35.

Have you tried looking at the site with multiple browsers, clearing your cache, doing a hard refresh, etc? Maybe the reason the author hasn’t responded to you is that they may not see a problem with the site.

Yup, they are using object-fit which is not much of a cross-browser solution http://caniuse.com/object-fit You can only see it in Chrome/Opera.

Seems like a small oversight on the developer’s side that can be fixed pretty easily. They probably only tested it with square images and forgot to test other aspect ratios. Not sure why they don’t respond to you though, keep trying I guess because they are the ones who should fix this :)

+1 for letting us contact the reviewer, but maybe limit it to 1 response only and if the reviewer doesn’t respond back to your mailbox then you are out of luck.

By the way, I like how the review system works at newegg:

This could work great in both private and eventually public ratings as well. Notice how the Manufacturer Response is directly visible and not hidden by default, makes for a very transparent impression.
