Hey Everyone, The festive session is almost here and I hope all of you have a great holiday Looking at the previous year’s data, December doesn’t usually grow as fast as November sales due to the holidays (people are not online as much during this time). So far this year is the same. But to be honest you need to have a lot of sales to see these types of trends.
Hi everyone! I have seen a few threads from authors about sales recently and I wanted to share with you some information about the number of sales on our Marketplaces.
Last month, (October 2012) was a record month in the number of sales for our Marketplaces, the biggest so far! A big thanks to everyone for their contribution
Although it has been a successful month overall, please keep in mind that authors will experience sales individually, according to a variety of factors (including the number of items they have in their portfolio, item quality, new submissions, etc.)
This is also important to remember when you see someone commenting about their sales on the forums, as individual profiles will fluctuate and are not an accurate representation of the Marketplace sales as a whole.
From the historical data I’ve seen, each month has been a new record in terms of sales and this is still going up. Fluctuations can occur for a variety of reasons, such as when we run Bundles, short vs long months and seasonal changes. For example, a few days before and after Christmas there is usually a decline in the number of sales. This is because most people are not working at this time.
However, we have seen that sales in the following months usually make up for these seasonal fluctuations. (Although it is a bit early I want to take this chance to say, Happy Holiday everyone!)
I hope that helps everyone.
Hey everyone! My name is Sveta and I work in number crunching and trend analysis. I started at Envato 12 weeks ago and am working to build up a team to support the Marketplace, Tuts and Admin teams with all their data.
I understand that many of you are interested in the data surrounding the recent pricing changes. Vahid has asked me to review the WP category price change (that occurred on 4th of June) and give you some details about it. The WP pricing adjustment took place before I started working at Envato (before that I spent some time learning how to play poker :)) so it has taken a little while to collect the data and check the details.
From the data I’ve seen, two months before the pricing changes were made, the sales revenue was slightly decreased but also steady. However, after the new pricing was introduced, the sales revenue has been increasing solidly.
I also noticed that a month prior to the change, the number of unit sales had slightly decreased. For a few months after the change the unit sales were still decreasing. However, in the last few months there has been a rise in unit sales. All of this data shows us that the WP price adjustments have had a positive effect on the unit sales and sales revenue of this category.
Hope this information helps you and I’m glad to meet you all.
