Anyway, thankfully this was a non-production website. I rolled back from my Cpanel the files and the db, all is back to normal now.

So anyway, since my previous thread is blocked (http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/refunds-because-author-is-nonresponsive-theme-is-broken-but-envato-has-been-quiet-/136038?page=1) I have a new story to share.

So this is what happened.

I bought his theme. After sending in requests for support, he Ignored my requests for 5 days.

Since I had no choice, during this time, I bought a new theme, installed it and customized it for my own use. Everything was going smooth.

Suddenly, without checking or asking for permission, he reinstalled his theme, and did some customizations.

Now when I reenable my current theme, everything goes out of whack. When I contact him via Skype, Author refuses to fix the mess he created or to compensate anything for the new hours I must put in to recustomize the store, and I don’t even know if I can even get it back to how it started. Author also refuses to apologize for the mess he created.

Seriously, this is the worst experience ever.

How will people trust Themeforest with such irresponsible authors around?

I was using it for Prestashop.

Yes I have verified that it was compatible for version 1.6 of Prestashop which I am currently using.

I have sent two tickets for support from Envato on July 4th and July 6th. It has been 4 days since my first ticket with no reply from Envato at all! They endeavor to reply within 24 hours, but it has been 96 hours since then. This is frustrating.

I would expect a swift answer from them on the status of the ticket (within 48 hours) but it has been too long since then! I mean I don’t mean to be a frustrated customer, but with no reply from both the author and Envato as the marketplace provider, it is really mind blowingly bad service from both parties!

I would like to seek the views of everyone here on how to seek a refund from Envato / Themeforest for a theme that was sold that was broken from the first install (many elements did not display correctly) and author has been non-responsive.

I bought the theme http://themeforest.net/item/coffee-shop-prestashop-responsive-template/gone/6975964 on 2nd July.

After installing the theme, I have asked for help from TemplateMela on how to fix the issues, they replied me once on the same day, and from now till then I have had radio silence on them on how to fix the problems in their theme.

I also submitted two tickets to Envato support (10384 (July 6) / 9486 (July 4)) with no reply on them on how to proceed on a refund as this is clearly a broken theme.

I have bought around 5 themes so far with no problems, this is my first time encountering such an unresponsive author. Today, the theme was taken offline as well as from my backend. So I just paid $65 over one week for nothing?

The worst part is the radio silence from Envato in not handling this matter. If this continues, I would be forced to issue a chargeback or similar. As I am based overseas, I can’t even contact them by phone.

This is ridiculous. Anyone has suggestions? Thanks!
