does anyone know of any of a plugin that can add custom fields to the portfolio items page . So the users can just fill in the fields when adding a portfolio page .
Can anyone explain why do people pirate stuff ? It just does’nt make any sense to me … And yet the internet is flooded with piracy
What do they get out of uploading someone’s work to the public ? they obviously get nothing in return , So why do it ?
The only one’s who benefit are the owners of the pirate website’s, who gain advertisement revenue..
... an item is older than 1 year (or once a year, don’t remember) and it doesn’t work the author will get notified and if the item is not fixed it is removed….
Yes, @happinessengineer : this would be an ideal solution . To send a couple of reminders if the theme is neglected and only after several reminders and a notice , the theme be removed.
I do not mean to insult or be rude by opening this thread. If anyone has felt so , then I sincerely apologize. But I came across this WP theme that was created about 4 years back and not once updated. Do you’ll think it fair for that developer to reap the benefits of a theme that old ( and neglected ), when they are developers giving their sweat and blood into making sales here ?
I do not want to start a war on this thread. I am only questioning an insignificant handful of theme’s that need to be looked into ?
Im not asking for a lifetime free service, Im just saying the marketplace needs to be cleaned up to focus on theme’s and developers that are upto the mark.
And a theme that runs on an extremely outdated version of wordpress !!! Is that considered “working” ? Wordpress.org always insists that we use an updated version of the software. An oudated theme is most like to break on the latest software versions, or if installed on it own outdated version – its more likely to be hit by security issues. So is this Theme considered “working” ?
Most of the theme developers are dedicated to providing great after sales, and in turn get more revenue by gaining trust & confidence from the buyers.
But I have come across theme’s which are not updated often, have bad support and are probably abandoned… What is Envato doing in such cases ?
If there is no software version update – old customers suffer with security threats, new customers will not buy and its just a waste of space on themeforest.
Why does’nt Envato remove theme’s which are not supported or which are abandoned by their developers?
Wow! looks really good . Too god for a rejection .
But I feel like I have seen a very similar theme . This could be the reason it was reject . spend some time browsing the market place and check if there is similar already there
Logo is just too outdated. Maybe use something cleaner and simpler
Avoid getting into such partnerships unless you know the developer personally . otherwise It can turn out to be a nightmare in many cases. And in one of the comments: “3-7 days” !!! Seriously !!! I would doubt the quality in such cases
I hav’nt found this option in themeforest. But you can paste the following in google search . It should work :
( replace just the word country with the actual country name. leave the inverted commas )
Hi , I had bookmarked on my browser the theme Aleph by Gnurocks last year . But now it no longer exists . I wrote to Envato support and they informed that the developer probably has deleted the theme and to post on the forum if anyone is aware of a similar theme . I went through the WP photography themes , but did’nt find any quite close to Aleph . Please if anyone is aware of a similar theme / or any suggestions , please do inform . Thanks
