I don’t believe AI can outperform the human brain. The Grid’s website looks good, but it’s dull. Here’s a good read: http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2014/12/is-the-grid-a-better-web-designer-than-you/
Good read nagaemas.
I think the impact will be more felt (in the short-ish term) on the Squarespaces of the world. But, even then they’ll adapt to this in some shape or form, with a differing/competing USP.
WordPress, WordPress themes have such a strong foothold. What is the percentage of sites ‘powered by…’ worldwide again? and a different kind of user base, as MeGusta mentions above. Those folks won’t always want a subscription based option, how ever frickin’ ‘Brian Aldiss’ the USP for The Grid is.
Keep (WP) theming folks
Yeah you really need to hone your design skills some more.
As Lubos mentioned, gain inspiration from places like Dribbble. Learn about visual hierarchy, colour schemes, typography, negative space etc..
Practice, practice, practice.
As far as I know you are still allowed them bake them in.
Me, personally, I’ve pulled away from page builders in general. Less sales granted, but the bloat overload is to much. Page templates, an Options panel of sorts, CPT’s are more than a perfect fit for a great theme.
It would make a great end to the year for some form of reply? Then we can relax over the holiday period thinking ‘Fantastic, they’re going improve this, this & this in the New Year’. With a fresh perspective for 2015 going forward.
Granted it’s a small time slot, but a reply of some merit would be nice.
Hey guys, recently i moved from a PC (Win8) to a splendid Macbook Pro 15’’ Retina + Thunderbolt display, and can i say it’s an amazing piece of hardware.
Same setup. Truly awesome. The Thunderbolt may be ‘non-retina’, but it’s still a damn fine screen. I have my MBP in clamshell mode when hooked up (just dedicates a little more power that way), and a whole lot more. Great little app.
Like Jaynesh mentions, adding your own keyboard shortcuts works great. I also use a free app called ‘Better Touch Tool’ which is great for snapping windows around your screen (like Windows does), and more. Great little app.
