Honestly mate, you need to spend time studying color theory, typography, spacing & hierarchy before you go forward.
Other than a few spacing and typography issues, the main issue is it’s just not unique, the market is saturated with themes that look like this.

Honestly, looking at this you really need to forget about themes and submissions and go back to the drawing board.
Read articles on Smashing Magazine and A List Apart etc… learn about basic design principals, color theory and as you say, hierarchy, rhythm and typography, then spend a minimum of 12 months learning and refining those skills.

You have typography, spacing and hierarchy issues and the design is very, very dated, looks like you designed this back in 2000.
Study design more, checkout trends on dribbble then give it another shot.
