Some genuine authors have got knocked off those popular lists and thats the real shame.
This is not good.
Not all authors are in same situation (most have day jobs) and not all buyers need the same level of support.
If an author wants to offer support for free then this is part of their service of an item then that’s OK, but it should not be a mandatory service. On low cost marketplace authors make money from 100s sales not 100 of support requests.
An optional paid service – premium support (24-48hr-72hr reply – whatever the author decides) might be a potential solution. An additional paid service for the customer (monthly fee) would give extra income for the author, but only if the author wants to offer the service.
All responsible authors update their files and fix any bugs or glitches. Try removing the authors that don’t and stop allowing poor quality files from entering the market in the first place.
Finally, you should really fix Envato support before you try to dictate everyone else’s.
Sadly you see how some author react to the generous birthday offer.
Examples in the best sellers in the print section. Resume templates created weeks/months ago with no sales suddenly having huge sales bumps.
Created mid June – 40+ sales last week. Only 10 in previous 2 months.
Created beginning of August 60+ sales last week, Only 2 previously.
Created beginning of July 30 sales last week, Previously 2 sales.
Something doesn’t seem quite right does it.
Ask for 25-50% upfront then at least you get paid something if they run. It also scares away people who aren’t serious.
Seems they also have our files and also no extended licenses.
We bought 6, thought a few buyer would enjoy the extra bonus. Happy 100% Day
