Hi, I have a question. I know, that exclusive authors must sell their items exclusively only on Themeforest. But what, if I want to sell my theme (it’s about my Halo theme here: http://themeforest.net/item/halo-stunning-html-portfolio-theme/302260 which also is available for HTML by the way here on Themeforest) for an other CMS ? Some private or less known or anything? So I’m not selling exactly the items I’m selling here on Themeforest, but I sell the same design. Do I have to make me an unexclusive author, then?

Kind regards, indiapart.

I think it’s nice, but the headings are far too large, also I’m not sure if bolden headings here and thin headings there are a good choice. I don’t like the slider caption, too. It looks unfinished. Besides of that points, I think the theme should be accepted (though I wouldn’t ever buy the theme. Just don’t like it at all, but I could imagine that it will work for some other people and it’s unique enough). Kailoon, oh man. Yes, I got my problems with him, too. Got rejected around five times by him and even with asking for detailed critic points he didn’t specify really much (“There is nothing specific that I can point you as there is not much provided within the template.”).

Hi guys, I did many Changes which seem reasonably to me and I am really curious about what you think now. Is there any more critics? Do you think maybe, it’s not provided much in the theme?

Changes I made so far:
  • Only two fonts are used now, Droid Sans & Droid Serif (header’s font not counting ;D)
  • greyed out the content, headers mostly almost black and serif
  • some margin finetuning
  • changed the searchbox style
  • no borders for images any more besides of the flickr widget in the footer
  • typography page fixed
  • hopefully found a better logo font and style ;)

Hi, thank You so much for great critic points, I am getting on and fixing the most of what sounds reasonable to me ;) Still one question left for me:

6.: Could You tell me exactly how and what does not work with which browser in which system? I just tried to access the theme on Windows and Mac OS with almost every browser (of course no IE on Mac OS) and to reload some times, everything just worked fine for me?

Also, any other thoughts about the theme? More reasons why it could be not accepted (besides of the ones already mentioned, I am working on it!). I appreciate any opinion!

Greetings, indiapart.

Hmm I am uploading this theme I think already the fourth time and the reviewer doesn’t provide any specific information about what he does not like. It’s just always the first two automaticly generated paragraphs (unique design, bla bla) and when asking for what he doesn’t like, the answer is just ‘yeah, there is nothing specific i could tell you’. Just the time before he just told me that submenu looks like the one from Classica (hey, look at this just passed item: http://themeforest.net/item/eptonic-beyond-the-limits/full_screen_preview/241366) He’s asking for more details, anyway the Theme walked trough some “redesigns” already and I am somehow desperate how to get it accepted. Would be glad to hear some more Critics from you… http://demo.dotwired.de/halo/

Greetings, .wired

Hi Aaron, I really appreciate your help and have done some updates on the countdown, so it just become a complete new countdown. I hope, I could make everything better, what you mentioned, so the whole theme is somewhat more modern, now. There also shouldn’t be any lack of contrast now, a progress bar is build in and the social icons are still there, even with a far better grey-to-color fade effect. I would again appreciate every feedback from you guys! http://www.marlonmedau.de/demo/counter2/

Best regards, indiapart

Should I completely change the theme to something like this? There is a demo here: http://www.marlonmedau.de/demo/counter/55.jpg

Its good but its not a premium theme. Therefore cannot be approved for sale here.

Would you please tell me, what a so called “premium theme” is for you? If I browse trough the themeforest items, it just looks everything the same. Every “premium” theme got the flash cub3r slider, another jQuery slider and the same composition. And, in fact (no subjective impression but just fact), the site uses list for navigation and everything else would should be placed in list and also is valid.

So I excuse for “breaking the forum rules”, but I thought, based on these facts, “incompetent” would be the right expression, but I was obviously wrong. Sorry for this.

Hello Members, Supporter, Themeforest-Worker. First of all, sorry for my bad English, I hope you still can read this text and comprehense, what I want to say ;) I submitted my Theme twice, first time – okay, i got it that there have could be some improvements. But now, it’s absolutely inappropriate. Look at my demo: http://www.marlonmedau.de/demo/amelie/ The style switcher at the bottom (also code bottom) is JUST in the demo, it’s NOT in the files I uploaded. Now, the theme is written in absolutely valid HTML 5 , only the styles for the styleswitcher produce an error. Watch random page validation output. This was marked by your reviewer at the second submit with one of this meaningless predefined sentences.

2) Overall template typography needs additional refinements and improvements before it will be ready for ThemeForest. 3) The template needs improvements in visual hierarchy primarily using typographic elements such as headings.
Also, the second time my theme was criticized in typography. As far as I can see this, typography is more than nice. But maybe I should just learn from themes like these, which have by far the most beatiful typo ever.
4) Elements such as navigations and series of items should be placed in lists instead of a series of links or divs.
Yeah, right. Okay, what could you mean, let’s have a look… Navigation with dropdown… list. Footer widgets… list. Okay, where the hell is this mysterious “not-list-written” list, what this reviewer could have mean…

I am curious, do you think, this theme is really not good enough for Themeforest?
