Heya!

Oh hai!

Are there any cyclists around here? There was a running competition organized some time ago, I think it would be awesome to do one for cyclists as well. :D

That sounds like fun!

Btw, if you’re using Strava, leave your profile link here, maybe we can create an Envato club ;)

Recently Mario (y’see, we do talk to the Studio developers ;-) ) introduced me to Strava and since then I’ve become an addict! It’s great being able to race against my previous segment times. My username is the same as it is on the forums.

How many kilometerers do you ride daily / weekly?

I’d not ridden for years but recently joined the throng of staff who cycle to Envato HQ most days. It’s about 10 km from door-to-door; a little longer if I take the scenic route. Melbourne has some great bike paths, I’m discovering.

BTW: who is Pete J? Looking at his profile I see another Envato Club

Ah I searched for Envato before creating, must have missed that existing one. Looking at the avatars that looks like an Envato staff group.

I’ll rename the group I created to Envato authors

Ah yes. Sorry. I was lurking on this thread this morning and joined the group before it was called “Envato Authors” and before I had a chance to write an introductory post. I’ll duck out of the Envato Authors club and stick with the existing Envato Riders club. I like the idea of a community club without the author / staff distinction, though.

Cheers;

I wrote my first program on an Amiga 500, when I say wrote, I literally copied it character for character from a book that came with it. It was the ‘lines’ program you can see here

Atari ST forever! ;-)

Welcome aboard Tommy (and Sam); it’s great to have you here!

A couple of the guys at Envato HQ came up with a Spotify playlist: Songs that I don’t know by a band that I do. I’ve been having fun listening to that.

Best discovery from that list? Madness – E.R.N.I.E.

Oh I love my vinyl records, even the ones that are old and pop and crackle as I play them.

Unfortunately, mine don’t get aired very often as I listen to most of my music on the move these days and with a pre-schooler running around like a mad thing at home, I tend to keep my LPs and 45s out of reach.

I have a Denon USB turntable which I use for converting records to MP3s, which has been very handy: not all of my records are available in digital format.

That sound is really awful. Now they sounds like a

[Vacuum cleaner]

:D

During free practice and qualifying I thought it pretty awful, too, but during the race I changed my mind… It’s actually quite nice to be able to hear more than just the engines (tyre squeal, cars bottoming out, crowds cheering as the local boy goes past in second place, ...).

I like to think that what was once sound energy is now kinetic energy and I’m all for efficiency!

Thanks for letting us know, folks.

A good way to test email delivery from the Marketplaces is to try sending yourself an email from your profile page. If you don’t receive it, please file a support ticket and, importantly, provide an alternative email address that we can use for correspondence, since if mail from Marketplaces can’t get through to your primary email address, then email from our support system won’t either.

deTheme: Thanks for confirming via email that delivery is now working.

The first computer I owned (and programmed) was a Commodore 16:

As I recall, it came out a couple of years after the C=64, since 64 kB RAM was deemed far too much for the home user!

I love F1… I can’t wait!!! I’m going to lock my girlfriend in a room, so she won’t be able to talk while watching the race :D

With these new V6 engines, you’d better ensure it’s a soundproof room!

I could hear the people behind me chattering away during the race... that never happened with the V8s (or the V10s)!
