It is a little chunky isn’t it? I originally had Helvetica / Arial, but after the typography critique I figured they wanted headlines to stand out more thus Chunkyfive.

Hi joshharbaugh,

When using Cufon, we do not bundle the font, nor it is required at the client’s machine. The javascript file holds all information like font metrics, kerning details etc. When we generate a font on Cufon website, a JS file with that font/family name is generated, which is responsible for font conversion along with the main cufon plugin file.

For font-face or typekit, only fonts with appropriate license, EULA permissions can be uploaded to your web site’s folder. The font is then downloaded from server side. You can browse through fontsquirrel.com to see already available font-face packages.

This is what I thought, but I wanted to clarify just in case. Thank you very much.

I see a lot of themes using the Cufon and Typekit solutions for better typography, but I’m curious about the legal ramifications of this. Is it legally safe to use a font that the buyer probably doesn’t have on their own machine (or a license of period) since it’s not the actual font you’re embedding but some javascript to tell the font to work?

If anyone knows how this works I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

ok lets say that there should be author credit. so for example I by this:

random choice item: http://graphicriver.net/item/business-card/42866

and the author wants his credit on the printed version on the right butom like: “designed by Blinky Palermo”

that would be very funny :)

Pretty much. It’s a “Work For Hire” arrangement folks. Get over it.

WordPress builds archive pages with /category/category-name normally, but it’s something you can change if you don’t like that.

Under Settings -> Permalinks you can change the structure of the way it builds permalinks. If you’d like it to build the links like: yoursite.com/blog instead of yoursite.com/category/blog you can select “Custom Structure” and put /%postname%/ in that field and save.

I might make the headlines and headers “pop” more with another font or possibly a bold variant of the current font.

Other than that, it’s a very clean layout.

Howdy all,

I am looking for some feedback on my WordPress theme, so that it won’t get rejected again. I’m trying to figure out how to address some of the comments, but I’m having some trouble coming up with a solution.

Here’s the theme as it stands currently: http://www.pixelhavenllc.com/themes/designingfor/

One of the reasons for rejection was: “Overall template typography needs additional refinements and improvements before it will be ready for ThemeForest.” and “The template needs improvements in visual hierarchy primarily using typographic elements such as headings.”

Any advice on how to improve the typography & visual hierarchy?

Thanks everyone!

hey mastergreed, I don’t care for your user icon. you should change it because thats what I want. my personal opinion is more important than yours. I’m aware your icon isn’t really bothering anyone, but I still feel you should change it. now see how annoying that is?

I laughed and totally agree.
