Why not push the envelope even more?

Require that everyone entering use the exact same synth, to really level the playing field.

My vote would be Synth1

Karma Audio K-58 tube mic. Impossible to find now (I’m assuming they stopped making it) but WOW did this thing sound magical. Unlike anything I’ve ever heard…

Not only that… but it was soooo sexy looking. Yowza! ;)

May be everything will “look fine” and arranged when you see things from your chair? :D
haha, believe me everything I have is in a constant state of flux typically. I realistically need like 5 times as much shelving as I have. I’ve considered asking if I can put a futon in the room so I can just sleep there during long projects.

Obviously I’m not talking about reselling. That’s a total red herring to what I’m talking about. This has absolutely nothing to do with stymieing an author’s potential sales.
I’m sorry if you misunderstood me. I didn’t imply that you were going to resell or redistribute it.
I was talking about the possibility of it happening if the rules were not what they are now. :)

Gotcha, yeah that makes sense. ;) And I do understand how things can be misinterpreted rather quickly.

It doesn’t need to be like that though, my use is still very limited (i.e. only for my portfolio going on youtube). Why should the money I would spend on a contractor not go to someone that’s risks zero by my very specific and limited usage of their stock? Obviously I’m not talking about reselling. That’s a total red herring to what I’m talking about. This has absolutely nothing to do with stymieing an author’s potential sales.

I hear what you’re saying, Josh, but the licenses here are simple and generic, so they don’t cover a very specific case like yours. If specific exceptions were to be written in, it would quickly create the misunderstanding that anyone can uses the licenses in a similar way.

Maybe consider posting something on the forums here – I’m sure there are many VH users who would consider making something bespoke for you for a couple of hundred dollars – the project in question is rather simple to recreate.

True. Well, maybe I can contact even that author to see if he would draw up a specific license agreement to suit my usage.

Yikes, $4000+ to be able to put my full portfolio up with an animation on youtube? That makes zero sense. I could contract someone to make me a design I’d have outright full license rights on for 1/10th that price (at most honestly). Or I could alternatively buy 40 complete (and huge) digital juice libraries.

I hope you can see why that doesn’t make a lick of sense. Also you really think I’m going to go through a checkout process 200 times? You’ve got to be joking me. Guess it’s time to head to microlancer <sigh>.
