Yes, I think my problem is that I don’t know this market. A client asked psd file of one of my jpg collage. I didn’t see any options to upload it via PhotoDune and uploaded it via Graphic River. Sadly my file didn’t met current quality requirements. I have no ideas what it means. It was properly layered psd. So you might be right, maybe I’m too confident with my images. I guess I leave it that way and stick with PhotoDune. I’m sorry for the client, but I’m sure he finds lots of great images on this site. Thank you for your good words and suggestions!
||+519855|Giallo said-|| You know.. if you have a big amount of data entry to be done, I suggest you to look for a kid/student who can do it for some little extra money. That might be a really great idea actually. I might contact support, but I’m hesitant to do it, because I think they might just say, don’t be lazy, get to work. LOL I don’t think if it would be easier for them to do than for me, if that option doesn’t exist on the site. Oh well, maybe I still should ask. Thanks for your suggestions, guys!
Hi, I am really lost. Usually I have no problems set up ftp account or upload my images to any php on html driven website, but I just don’t have enough power to focus on how to do it here… :(((((( I have illustrations in jpg, and vector images in eps+high resolution jpg and zip files what include high resolution images + vector eps. All jpg-s have metadata embedded. Now, how can I upload my images on GraphicRiver without manually inserting metadata on the site? via ftp? I made a preview jpg 590px wide and thumbnail 80×80, both metadata embedded, and tried to upload one test image, i.e. 3 files (zipped jpg + preview 590px + thumbnail 80px) via ftp client. When I finally figured out not to upload them in bulk-import folder, but in root, they did show up in the upload area, and I can select them, but now I have to insert metadata manually. Is there any ways to have the upload system to read metadata from jpgs? Creating manually thumbnails and previews is a real pain too… Is there any easy way to upload illustrations on GraphicRiver? Or do you have any tips or tricks how to bulk create thumbnails and previews? I have about 1000 vector files and illustrations, all nicely zipped (high resolution jpg + eps), but don’t know how to upload them without doing all the work manually. Any suggestions? Thanks for listening my rant, maigi
Photodune-ites => photoduners? Maybe? Great work. Thanks!
I think I had photos lost before. I uploaded over 1000 images during august/september, and have about 300 images accepted. I got couple of hundreds rejection notices, but still I have no idea where some of hundreds of my images ended up. I don’t keep rejection notices, but don’t remember getting 700 of them. Hmm… maybe I’m on denial… But I’m still happy that my accepted images sell well. :))
Yes, EL prices are not according to current market, too low. 100 would be normal for resale items.
Will it read IPTC data then? I will try out. Thanks!
Yes, KingDog. When you are on microstock you will learn quickly to speak…. ;)) Actually my latest images have fewer keywords (20-30). But when image agencies have millions images on their image banks then customers have to make clever searches. For example if I would like to buy a pic with new home and family with a dog in front of it on the green grass, then I might make a very precise search: home, new, family, dog, grass maybe add even green. If photo submitter includes only keywords: home, house, real estate, family, but skips new and green or grass and dog because they are not main subjects, I wouldn’t find his image with my search. I know keywording needs a balance, but only mentioning main subjects don’t help on complex searches. I’m not very sure about PhotoDune keywording policy, but all my images are keyworded during my 5 years adventures in microstock land, and some images have lots of them, some fewer. If I would have more time I would rekeyword some of my earlier images, but I have not found so many free time yet. And I don’t know PhotoDune so well so I could know which images would be accepted on library, so rekeywording them all would be a waste of time. Right now I just randomly deleted some of keywords and hit submit and did it several times until image got accepted. But it would be lot of easier if I would see how many keywords I should delete. It shouldn’t be too hard to implement, since the engine already counts if I have them more than 50. It just need a little additional field on webpage to show that number to me. But I’m sure your coders know better how to do it. Otherwise the page looks and works great. Better than few other microstock sites. Thanks for your work!
Hi, I’m quite new here and would like to upload some graphics on GraphicRiver, but don’t know how it’s best way to do. I have mainly jpg and eps images. Eps with high-resolution preview jpg. All jpg-s have metadata inserted. Is there any easy way to make uploader read the metadata like on PhotoDune? Thanks, maigi
