goofydadog saidNot for a fixed price though, if you take a car to a mechanic for an oil change and then ask them to fix your exhaust, you’ll be charged accordingly. Sadly the Envato Express Install service does not have an option to cater for this (unforseen issues).
My point is as you are paying a professional people will expect you to deal with any problems that may come up.
Just chiming in as I wanted to comment on this real quick. If a buyer comes to you with what is not a fresh installation request, we would suggest you request to cancel the job and explain the scope of the Express WordPress Installation service. While this is all explained at the point of purchase, we are always looking for ways to make this more clear to buyers.
Alternatively, should you wish, you can propose a custom job from within this express job that would allow you to set additional pricing, turnaround and revision limits for the work being requested. Additionally, if you have service listings on Envato Studio, you could point them there also.
Any questions, let me know.
As a few of you would also like to discuss this further and in order to handle this more effectively, I would request that anyone with questions in relation contact us directly via. the link below. This way we can handle each issue as it comes in.
Please also be patient in regards our response times, as this week we are a team of only 2.
Any plans to offer a paid referral program for authors who don’t want to participate in Studio Express themselves? If there’s no paid referral then I’d rather direct my customers elsewhere to have their themes installed/customized. Someplace that gave me a cut for giving them business.
Great suggestion! Definitely something for us to consider.
@luke and @mat,
I just read this article,So, if we are still not Envato Studio provider, and if we want to provide Express Service now, after register to Studio, how long will we be approved for it? I believe that “Have a good track record working with Envato Studio buyers” will take time…
We select Express Service providers from our existing horde of handpicked service providers with applicable experience.
To become an Express Service provider, you must:
- Be an existing Envato Studio service provider
- Have an available service in the relevant category (e.g. Providers who offer Express WordPress Installation must have an active WordPress service)
- Have a good track record working with Envato Studio buyers
While true, we are happy to consider those with proven track records elsewhere, like on Envato Market, for example.
Matt from Studio here, jumping in to answer this question.
what’s up with that? We had a client asking us for this service and we told them they can order it trough envato studio on our profile, i do not know how but someone else got the job.
Wasn’t there a debate around this and we even got a mail and confirmed something?Thank you for your feedback
The first-dibs feature is indeed turned on and working well. The issue is, you were contacted in regards in December 2014 at which time we did not get a response from you. Therefore, you have not been added to this service. If you are still interested in adding yourself to this service, please contact us below.
Matt from the Studio team here. I will attempt to answer all the questions to date, but please feel free to respond and ask me anything else that may relate to the topic.
I’m waiting for months to finally be allowed to become an envato studio service provider to offer customization for videohive files and now you tell me you are forwarding all my buyers directly to the competition? Well thank you for that!
Unfortunately, we are not currently offering any form of express video services post-purchase from VideoHive or linking directly to video providers on Studio after purchase. This may be why you have not been contacted in regards. Feel free to contact Studio support if you would like to discuss further:
Signed up to be an Envato Express Service Provider, never heard back about it, seriously, @lukemeehan could you look into that please? “First dibs” was announced months ago and I’m still unable to offer install services for my buyers.
Tom, one of my colleagues will be in touch today in regards your account on Studio.
How do we know if one of our items is eligible for this service?
Hmm, good point. I just realised we do not publically share this information at present. Mostly because we are still experimenting with what categories on Envato Market sites we can offer express services on. However, the best way to know what we are currently offering is to check out our FAQs on the subject:
Hope this clears up any concerns, but please ask any questions you may have either in this thread, or via. the support link above.
Thanks for the expression of interest. We are not currently actively inviting new providers to Envato Studio. If you would like to express your interest officially though, I would suggest contacting us directly here: https://studio.envato.com/contact
Thanks again for the interest and have a great day!
