Does anyone have experience with requestAnimationFrame?

Scenario:

1. I have a bunch of canvas items
2. When i “mouse over” an item, it modifies it’s shape(redraws the canvas up to a certain point, when the animation is cancelled)
3. When i “mouse out” an item, the shape modifies again(redraws the canvas from the point where the animation was left, until it hits the beginning value)

Bug:

When i put my mouse over an other item, the requestAnimationFrame cancels my first animation and continues with the second one. So my first item has a bad shape(it stops the animation where it was when i hovered the second item). And this goes on for all my items.

Solution:

I think that this is because the requestAnimationFrame is working on the window object. Does anyone has any experience in putting the function on an object, so that you can have multiple requestAnimationFrame instances running on the screen at the same time?

I don’t have any experience with requestAnimationFrame on canvas. I do have an experience with animations and i could help you with hints. Also i like fixing tough bugs or finding solutions to temporary issues.

Send me a private message and I will try and help you!

We’re sorry this happened to you mediacreed, and for what it matters, to us it looks as well a bit too close to your template, if you look at the preview image on the template’s presentation, there’s even one image which is the same :) However, that image or any of the others don’t appear then in the actual live preview.

Thank you for posting your opinion :)

I really don’t see the outrageous copy. It’s most likely inspired, but that’s all i;m sure there isn’t copied code. How about Ruben’s WowWay or Elastico, they could say you stolen the idea and did it differently, however they didn’t. We all seek inspiration somewhere. I also found bits of my work here on the markets and i was actually flattered my work is inspirational.

I’m sure you’re just really pissed off right now, that’s all :)

EDIT: My point is that you shouldn’t take it too personal and get through this quickly.

I also see you’ve calmed down now, which is really good :)

Hi,

Just as an extra info. Synergy was developed long time ago, long time before Elastico and WowWay.

See my flash profile and see my February 2012 Synergy Template:

http://activeden.net/item/synergy-xml-template-with-deeplinking/1625550

So i had nothing with Ruben’s and Spade invaders because they have same design principles. But from principle to look and animations it is a long way to go.

My 2 cent opinion.

Mate we all support you in this, we’ve all felt or will feel at a certain point what you’re feeling now, what everybody is against here is your attitude regarding the matter. I know, it su#%s to be in your position now, but just try to calm yourself down. If that’s really copied from you it will stand no chance in front of yours because:

1. yours is better

2. yours is featured

3. yours already has a bucket load of sales and clients love seeing that

So just try to calm down, leave the lawyers out of this, contact support, but try to analize the guy’s code and see if he really stole it. Sending Envato a few print screens won’t help. Everybody gets inspired here, as I said, nobody here is Steve Jobs or Bill Gates.

Cheers

Thank you for sharing your opinion Ruben. I will follow the procedural steps.

I’m just saying .. there are authors on here which experienced the same stuff as you do now.. And after a lot of stress and frustration, they didn’t accomplish anything pursuing legal action.. The copy was taken down for a bit, then it got back up, and this was the end of it.. Happened before, so i don’t see why your case should be different..

Even if you don’t say it i can feel your support for me. So thank you and i am experiencing it for the first time so if you knew how it felt the first time it happend to you then i am pretty sure you understand me :)

Thank you for your comment :). I am calm, i am honest and i am telling that i was really nervous in my first comments. But after the 2nd page i calmed down.

I am not here in arguing with any other users. So as we men do sometimes, I do apologize if i offended any other author that replied to this comment.

I expressed my thoughts and was as direct as it could be.

So this is not a waste of time. I will try to consider the human part and contact the author, but if the approach doesn’t work i will not back down.

This will happen:

1. You send a DCMA to the author, Envato will take the file down, maybe freeze some funds..

2. The author will send a counter DCMA, claiming that he did not copy your theme, and he will ask that you take down your DCMA notice, or he will throw you in court.. He will pursue Envato with the counter DCMA, so he’ll get his file back..

3. You will accomplish nothing.. These are international waters. You can’t sue someone in another country that easy :D

It doesn’t matter if you are wrong or right..i’m just saying that it’s not worth it.. Even if you are right.. If you can’t prove pixel perfect details + code rip, you won’t get nothing from this..
+1. Copying ideas isn’t copyright theft because you don’t have your ideas Registered, so you can’t kill a man for getting inspired, even if he did go over board or not. Code can only tell who’s right.

Buyers will decide if copying ideas is worth something. We will see after his first week.

Sorry, I cannot find that copycat template you’re talking about (only one template that MAYBE got inspired by yours), so I’ll be silent.

Thank you for your opinion.

Maybe you want to contact the author in question first and try to get to an arangement, like him taking the theme down or him paying you a percentage of the theme or a flat fee. Directly involving lawyers and a court seems a bit excessive to me and wastes court time better spent on other cases. I understand your frustration but talking first seems like a better approach. Maybe he really didnt see your item, i didnt check the popular files for half a year and i sure would be grateful if someone would contact me first in this case instead of directly giving me the court hammer.

Yes seeking advice always seems to be a waste time. I believe that to be sands in the eyes. This why we compromise on so many things. I strongly don’t believe he didn’t see my template.

I believe he saw the template. Even new users follow the top sellers charts. But that is my opinion.

Let’s call that a sense of mine. So i will seek legal advice.

Let me tell you a story dear friend. I had a problem with a mobile communcation provider. Everybody told me it will be a waste of time to seek legal advice and that i will not win. Well guess what, i did seek legal advice and i won. I was paid back, including damages.

So this is not a waste of time. I will try to consider the human part and contact the author, but if the approach doesn’t work i will not back down.

Thank you for your time to comment.

Good luck waiting like months to decide such a thing. And, if crying here is all you can do, that’s pretty bad. If someone stole your template, fill in a DMCA to envato support and stop crying on the forums.

Nobody is crying FinalDestiny, oh by the way you wanted to make Synergy with me for WP. So related to the post dear friend. Is it a copy or not. Is it too similar or not. Do you have the time to answer that?
