Hey Guys!

Have any authors set up a Shopify Theme demo? I am not 100% sure what to do.

Do I host the demo on a ‘fake’ online store (Which I pay for) or follow Shopify’s guide to setting up a store as an affiliate (Which is free)?

I will be selling the theme only on Themeforest, so I am not too sure if I should be using the Shopify Affliate program.

Many Thanks

Mike

P.S. Emailed support as well to see if they can help, will post any responses here for other Authors.

Its a tough one, as I don’t want to bloat the HTML with comments. I quickly looked at the source code for 5 successful items on TF.

It seems that the common practice is to comment the code. Some just comment ‘sections’ of the HTML whilst others comments every element.

Maybe just commenting where sections start / end, and using sensible class names for elements inside these may be the happy medium.

Hey!

A super quick question. I am working on some themes for different areas, and was wondering if its worth commenting the HTML code with relation to what the elements are.

I am a little torn as what to do. I comment the CSS (Split into sections) / JS (What each function does), but for the HTML I am trying to use sensible class / id names. Such as:

<article class="product preview" id="123456">
    <a href="/" title="Selected Leather Bomber Jacket">
        <h3>Selected Leather Bomber Jacket</h3>
        <span class="price">$100.00</span>
    </a>
</article>

To me, I see that as a product preview, that contains a title and a price, and I don’t feel it needs commenting, but then again I wrote the code.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Mike

Dec – best month ever

+1 for me. December, surprisingly, has been a really good month.

Here’s mine:

Pocket by Mike McAlister

I always loved Mike’s minimal style which is much more than subtle patterns and an accent color. And this one is my absolute favor.

You beat me to it. I absolutely love this theme.
