First off, big respect to Forrest and Emmett for setting up such a great project and giving others the chance to help. It´s good to see how everyone is willing to contribute. But the fact that Envato is not willing to raise the percentage cut of this account makes me really feel sad. Envato would still earn a 30% income from a project that reliefs the poor. To me this is a sign, and I´m afraid it´s not a good one. However I hope that authors don´t get discouraged by that and continue to help!
All the best,Ralf
It is a shame alright. I’m not sure why the decided against it, as Forrest emailed them about that, so I’m not sure of the full reply. The answer was no anyway We’re slowly but surely making sales now – 10 sales since we started already
Please let me know if you got my e-mail.
Hi Mihai, sorry about the delay – I’ve received your email, and will be uploading your track tomorrow to AJ Sorry about the delay – I’ve been really busy with work all week – thanks so much for your time and contribution!
Thanks SOS ! Send me any tracks onto firstname.lastname@example.org or through my profile or the Donate_Palawan profile, and we’ll upload the tracks. We’ve asked envato to raise the commissions to 70% as its for charity, but unfortunately they won’t do that for us.
Thanks guys! Keep on rocking
Hey Leto, I uploaded your track about 5 days ago and its pending still in the system. Apologies about that, I thought Forrest responded to you. In the future guys, you can feel free to contact me at email@example.com and I will upload and respond to your within a couple of hours.
Forrest has limited internet where he is at the moment, so he might be without a connection lately. Apologies again anyway, and thanks everyone for your support so far. We’re at about $31.00 already and counting!
Hi guys, thanks for donating your tracks, time and effort to this cause! If you are having any issues sending files to Vaisnava, you can alternatively send them to myself at firstname.lastname@example.org
Would people find it easier to upload to a server, if I create an ftp account, or how would you guys like to send us the files? Whichever way you find the easiest, let us know, and I’ll sort it out for you guys
Thanks again for all your support and effort helping out!
Everyone uploads one file – there will be a big portfolio!
Exactly – just 1 file each from 100 different authors and we’re going to have a big portfolio quickly. Flash, audio, graphics, templates – anything will help!
Already donated 2 tracks, and will submit more as they come
Come on guys – one file/track each and we’re gonna be flying! $2000 to buy a great boat for the community and protect the livlihoods of people in the Phillipines. Costs you nothing but a little time, and our combined effort can literally change people’s lives
I have two main musical influences. First, is the Donnie Darko soundtrack by Michael Andrews. If you’ve never seen the movie or never heard the soundtrack, please, check it out some time. It’s ethereal, it’s fragile, it’s beautiful, it just takes me to another place every time I listen to it.
My second major influence is an artist called theflashbulb. I’d describe his music as IDM , but it goes beyond that for me. It’s creative, compelling, and it’s such a journey of emotions and feelings as no two tracks are ever the same. One minute your brain is exploding through the pure genius of a totally glitched-out and fast-paced track, and the next minute you find such beauty in the warm embers of electronic harmonies. I have never ever heard anything so consistently moving and creative from one producer/artist before. Please take the time to check out theflashbulb. The album “Kirlian Selections” is an impeccable album to begin with:
I love Donnie Darko too – that was why I created my track on here called Ronnie Darko – sounds quite like it lol. One of my all time favourite soundtracks. Two of my all time favourite composers, and the people who definitively influence my music the most are Steve Reich and Phillip Glass – two contemporary composers, who I think write the most beautiful music out there – its so simple, and beautiful – love how their music just flows. I think it really influences a lot of my compositions.
If you’ve never heard of either composer, PLEASE listen to the two videos above – they are just so moving – you’ll kick yourself for never hearing of them before (at least I think so anyway )
i just said what i think, and im sure I’m no the only one. its not a popular move, but anyway, nobody wants to be out of roster. But i got your point.
Sorry but thats an incredibly selfish reason to rate it 1. You’re saying you rated it 1`because theres too much popular music in there that sells well and not enough that isn’t selling well. Popular tracks are popular because people usually spend a lot of time creating them and have been composing for a while. Unpopular tracks speak for themselves in the same way. I think its very unfair for you to rate a collection of good/popular tracks 1, simply because theres no unpopular tracks in there. Chances are if they are unpopular they’re not great tracks in the first place (in most cases), so by rating the popular ones 1, you’re in effect offending the people who have spent a lot of their time on their tracks.
If you think tracks are missing, advise Scott – don’t just shrug it off and try to make sure it doesnt do well.
I don’t mean to sound offensive here at all, you just have a fairly bad attitude
Hi guys, I’m looking for a widget or code that I can stick onto my website where people can type in their email address and sign up to my updates, and that has a background admin panel I can log into to send emails to everyone.
I had a quick look, but couldn’t find much, maybe I’m not searching with the right terms – could anyone point me in the right direction?
Would love either a Zoom H4N portable recorder, or this desk:
Hopefully Santa isn’t feeling the recession lol
