The new fee structure was super confusing at first. Coming here, the only conclusion I draw is that authors will be drawing less money since they won’t get a part of the $2 anymore

I subscribe to what premitheme and Makis77 said. You guys don’t offer any kind of tools in regards to support but you want to make the support mandatory?

This is the part I hate the most. Envato wants to make support mandatory, and take a 30% cut, over just a ‘policy’ change. Would this mean I can’t sell my support anymore? What next, paid customisations, so I can’t charge for customisations anymore?

Envato is a dominant force, but you can only stretch a rubber-brand so much before it breaks. A year ago, I worked months on end to make items for CC. Nowadays, I think of pulling them off.

From what I understand, Envato will be charging 30% of the support price, without giving the authors any tool for Support – just policy changes.

Forget providing us tools – we authors don’t even have the developer resources (read OAuth) for building the tools ourselves.

Does this also mean that I can’t charge people separately for support anymore, since it would break exclusivity?

Building your own shop is the best long term solution.

I seriously doubt that… We have been down that road and believe me, it’s not easy! Being developers at heart, we found that a lot of our time ended up being spend on marketing, taking away from building and developing our actual products.

Now that we have once again aimed our attention and focus on CC, we’re finding that our sales increase with each new release and since we can only focus on building our products :) Happy coding!

Agreed. Being a core developer, marketing comes hard to us. And it isn’t fun either. With CC you can get really good sales with near-zero marketing efforts.

That said, it makes sense to set up your own shop if you are looking for scale and flexibility, and don’t mind getting out of your comfort zone.

Good to hear about the shopping cart.

I still get inquiries from people asking why I’ve disabled ext license, as they want to use the plugin in multiple projects. Why not a relevant license, like WPMS license? or 5-site usage license?

Another CSS change. Great! Can we please have important updates now – shopping cart, lone review queue, human-understandable-licenses?

It’s a no-no. One buyer raised this issue in the forum, and it caused an awkward situation for the author. Don’t do this.

I am working on integrating Stripe with forms. Basically, it allows you to accept payments with forms, by simply adding a credit card field to the form. The best part is the simplicity – there are no redirects. There are other features too. It’s like a mini-ecom store.

I was hoping to find a few people to try it out, and give feedback, before I go for a general release.

Moving the site to another server should make no difference on the ranking, if you have done the config right.
