Speaking as another buyer I agree with charlie as well. I did buy a massive theme but hey the client saw that one himself and wanted it so have to give it to him :)

I also prefer the original designs ( but also see a lot of threads lately of original ones being rejected because reviewers don’t think it fits the unoriginal flow of themes latly )’and also supported authors just by buying there theme because i liked it. Some I found a use for later others I still have to find a use for

Do the same with codecanyon there are some gems there that are very nice and dont have that many sales but they do deserve it for there original way of thinking alone

Talking as a buyer here ( the one that has to educate his clients that even if it is multipurpose its only one license )

And that is exactly what I see happening. Buy a multi purpose theme and only use the corporate on but clients wife has a spa so she can use the spa version and his brother ha this and this company so he can use the version that applies to him ( and yes this happend to me )

If Envato has these multi purpose (bundled) themes they should finaly get a developer license or something alike just to prevent the above from happening more and more

Hi, I’m making a informational website for a fish market. (...) I’m searching for a clean, blue-ish single page template Thnaks!

you may want to wait for this: http://themeforest.net/item/fishtank-creative-ecommerce-psd-template/9358598 to be developed to HTML and then WordPress, we are working on it in this very moment :)

cheers

Nice on mark me down for the HTML version, any ETA?

Indeed

I do this now and then just to support the courageous author that dared to make something unique but was not rewarded in sales.

I still have some unique html templates lying around I only bought because i wanted to support the author and when time comes i will find a way to use them and .

I do buy some of the best sellers but tats when a client saw it ans asked for it as they had all the features they needed in one theme only to find out later that a competitor bough the same theme and just tweaked the colors a bit.

I have been pondering about this as well lately there was a time when there were some realy unique gems but fi you see the amount of sales they get I can understand why an author would not continue with it.

I looked at my previous buys in the beginnings with some of the more unique ones and almost all of these templates are removed and 80% of the time the author is gone as well.

I do like the jovaconstruction one and would buy that template in a heart beat.

There are some really unique templates from virtuti , not all of them my style but no cookie cutter ones either. She does not sell bundles but still only does these unique ones because she likes making them more than all these non original ones you been seeing lately.

Also noticed some forum threads lately about rejected themes and when checking them out some indeed were below par but others were creative gems, very unique and not fitting in the square that is envato it seems. Fortunately threads like these did spark some comments and the rejected ones were accepted in the end

But there were indeed some that were rejected fro being too unique, leaves me wondering why is uniqueness a bad thing.

I just bought my first theme here and I am livid. What kind of cheeseball operation in the 21st century forces once to pay $20 minimum, and offers only $20 increments, to purchase one theme costing $16.00.

Sure it is only four dollars, but how many times have these assholes done that? So you are suprised when they treat you badly, but you have been ok with your customers getting fucked every time until they pull one on you?

Plus you act butt hurt and surprised?

F**k all of you.

looks like this thread is attracting the wrong people. if You do some normal checking up you will find out that the authors have nothing to say about price payment etc. Everything is setup by Envato so go complain to them. I am sure the authors here dont even want a customer like you.

look this section in Whoa there! Things you can’t do with the Item

8. You can’t re-distribute the Item as stock, in a tool or template, or with source files. You can’t do this with an Item either on its own or bundled with other items, and even if you modify the Item. You can’t re-distribute or make available the Item as-is or with superficial modifications.

So selling a general template ( html or wp ) with a codecanyon item on any marketplace even with extended license is not allowed because

you are redistributing the item in a template since its pure js and css you are re-distributing with source you are redistributing as is

For example a module ( tool ) DNN version of LayerSlider is sold on DNN store but there is an agreement with the LayerSlider author . Other product have been taken down from the DNN store that used RevolutionSlider and some other scripts as well that were used without any agreements

Until there is a developer license the only legid way to sell products on other markets that have envata products incorporated in these ways is to get proper agreement from the authors

I myself also sell themes on DNN store based on Themeforest ones but i have agreements from the authors to sell and give them $ comission for each sale ( I did this since the licenses changed a few years ago )
