Is it possible to do the following and can someone explain the reprucussions….
I have an existing Wordpress site that I want to duplicate and add to a subdomain, so effectively I have 2 sites with different content but using exactly the same look and feel.
Question 1 – do I need to purchase another license for the Theme even if it’s on the same domain?
Question 2 – I need to run this plugin: http://calendarize.it/calendars/ on both sites because they use the same calendar entries, is it possible to have the plugin on one site and only have to enter the data on one site or do I need to repeat that for the 2nd site?
Question 3 – Does anyone know anyone who can do all of the above for me for a cost??
Whoa, what a star, thank you!!!
I’ve used several themes before for photography shoots and when setting them up as a gallery you have to add each image individually, this is not only time consuming but realllly borrrriiing!
Does anyone know of a theme that exists where you can do a bulk upload of images, and I’m not talking using a plugin like NextGEN gallery, but rather a full theme. This is a theme I’ve used before and while it was excellent I had to load each image individually: http://themeforest.net/item/pictree-a-clean-photographer-wordpress-theme/166912
Now it maybe that this type of theme does not exist, but if you don’t ask you won’t find out, any help much appreciated.
I’m looking for a theme for a clothes making business that allows you to select the material and the style of dress, then takes you through the payment process, address etc culminating is pinging the dress maker all the details.
An example can be seen here, although you can’t change the style of dress, only the fabric: http://www.ilovebreadandjam.com/
many thanks for any help
Don’t want to change the name of the theme, just the theme folder name – confusing huh!
So as per what Karma says ‘wp-content/theme’ to ‘wp-content/default’
But I’m assuming this will cause issues?
I don’t want to change the name of the actual theme, but instead the name of the main theme directory.
So instead of ‘theme/themename’
it would not be ‘folder/themename’
I want to do this before I install a new theme BTW , so starting from scratch. I’m sure it’s not as simple as just renaming the folder name on the FTP !
any help much appreciated
Great replies, all of you, many thanks. Morally I think I’m at peace now after this!
I have just designed a home page for a client. Client is happy and client sign’s it off.
Great, that’s the easy bit! What I need to do now is develop the site.
So as I see it I have 2 options.
Option 1, use someone like w3-markup.com and get them to develop a WordPress site for me which will come out to about $1000US
Option 2, Find a WP theme and manipulate that in line with the signed-off design, fraction of the cost and take advantage of all the shortcodes and extra’s that come with great theme’s today
My design, although mainly illustrative is based on a 960 grid, requires a blog, widget area but morally should I not develop it from scratch, this is the bit I really struggle to get my head round.
Any advice most welcome
The site is live but I want to change a name of folder. Of course if I do this it’ll mess all the links up throughout the site, so I’m just wondering if anyone knows a safe way of doing this if at all?
many thanks Paul
I’m looking for an event module for Wordpress that allows the user to see a list of events coming up over the next year and then they can click on and it add’s that event to their Outlook diary, Blackberry Diary and iCal….
It’s probably not possible as the modules I’ve found so far on here do the first part but none integrate into to any calendars.
Any help much appreciated
