The biggest killer to a new file is not low ratings, it’s not enough exposure on the homepage, if it gets knocked off the homepage too fast by newer files and doesn’t get enough sales to make it to the popular files page then that file is pretty much a right off. Why not make the recent home page area double the size to show 42 items?
Make it bigger, everyone will earn more this way.
+1 … good point
....And I agree with Chuck, authors should not be allowed to post on fellow authors file pages. A lot of authors are posting negative comments or posting complaints on the price of the file or even suggestions on how they should’ve designed the file etc. On my last file I had an author talking about clipping toenails so it’s all really unnecessary. Only buyers should be posting the file pages.
But what if one of the authors buy some files – he becoming the buyers with full right to make any comment !
.... since in this point in time the rating system does not provide me (being an author) any feedback whatsoever on how I could improve my files, nor does it provide buyers with an actual representation of the quality of the file.
I believe this is where the BIGGEST “problem” is, and the FlashDen has to look in to with 360° view.
more original works – it will attract more new customers ! simply because you – DIFFERENT
