So the bottom line is we are all frustrated and just keep trolling on this thread. How about we stop trolling and get to work. How about all of us take a day or two to make a sketch of what we think new layout should look like??
In light of this I understand that code behind this marketplace is from 2008 and God knows how clean it is and it’s probably a BIG problem to customize it drastically now.. Further, Envato shouldn’t change icon’s (theme icon’s) sizes, because icons are popular and nice way of presentation. Instead of making icons larger there could be solution (responsive solution) for tablets and phones where instead of a small icon there would be big preview image… Also, asking 5.000+ authors to change their theme icon’s would be a disaster as more than half of them would disagree…
So long story short. Yes the usability of new homepage is poor as user experience. But, let’s not argue anymore about it and try to make something better out of it. I know that no one has time to redesign all marketplace, but just take a day or two and make a sketch and post it here… Who knows, maybe some fresh and creative minds find a solution that will work for all of us. This is a great community and I think it’s worth to give it a shot. We will all benefit out of it more, than just trolling on a forum that everything sucks..

Dear Envato Support,
we can’t explain how happy we are when you refered our buyer to Microlancer instead of us, theme’s author… We know that you need to make money, but this is really a bad practice.
So in short here is the situation. A client bought our latest WP theme. He didn’t know how to install it and contacted directly Envato Support. They refered him to Microlancer and found someone who charged him $50 for installation (you all know how this works on Microlancer), instead of pointing him to us. If you didn’t know if we provide support or not you should at least check it first. The only fault of the buyer is that he didn’t even open documentation to see a guide how to install a theme, but that’s not the point here…
After that client got furious, left us a 1 star rating accusing us of charging him $50, because he obviously don’t understand that we are a team on themeforest, not Envato. So basically he didn’t rate us, but you – Envato support.Here’s a screenshot:
We already contacted support and guess what? We got generic response that this is valuable feedback!! Valuable to who?? We are not the ones who deserved 1 star rating and that rating should be removed! Because you refered that user to Microlancer instead of telling him to contact the author first!

Looking forward to the next stage, the real stage of AUTHOR teams, and that is collaborative items, split earnings etc. While having a support team is great, having a safe and trusting system in place for authors teaming up/splitting earnings is even more awesome

As I can see that PSD you are talking about has custom made icons and really unique layout – purpose also, somethng that hasn’t been seen so far. I think it deserves this price, but it’s true that there are a lot of other items that deserves it too.
