For templates, we use a single git repo which stores all files, assets, psds and docs. A git hook automatically updates preview whenever a new commit is pushed and a build script creates the upload zip by replacing commercial images with placeholders and uploads it to Envato using ftp.
For wp themes, we use 2 repos: one for the theme, other one for the framework referenced as submodule. Framework repo has a different branch for each theme, this way we can easily merge bug fixes/features add across different themes.
A build script extracts strings for translation, creates pot file and then theme.zip/download.zip
// folders layout css demo // demo xml docs // framework submodule framework framework/php framework/js framework/images framework/css images js languages Licensing // download/theme zips, screenshots, not tracked package package/upload_info package/screenshots psds theme theme/php theme/compressed
Most én lakom Budapesten, de nem vagyok Magyar. Tudok ertani a mit írtatok de nehez nekem írni Magyarul és ezért fogok befejezni angolul
I have only seen a couple of other Hungarian authors and buyers here, there are not many. I don’t believe there are any development teams selling here who are based in Hungary but I could be wrong. Likewise it will be difficult to find any knowledge base content written in Hungarian. Its good practice to read all the info in English anyway, which you will need once you start selling stuff, because your buyers will be expecting answers in English too
Sok szerencsét kivanok nektek. DOK
Congratulations to you!
ps. Did your profile not show an Irish flag before? I ask because, as I remembered it, you were one of the few other Irish authors on here, apart from me .
I have some question on this..
as a BUYER : what happens to my custom work (code) when I make an update using this script?thanks
Modifications of template files will be overwritten/lost unless you make your modifications by using a child theme, in which case they will remain.
I didn’t ever meet a reviewer in person but i doubt they have a range of knobs on their backs, one for each category, which allow quality level to be raised/lowered at will.
The amount of submissions is too damn high, lower quality item (as in both design/coding) and copycats will be approved no matter what.
This wouldn’t this bad if broken themes would be soft disabled and blatant rips removed at light speed but, unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Right now, envato doesn’t seem to have enough human resource to deal with a 2 millions users base, support just takes too much to answer/react and the fact a DMCA must be sent before killing copycats make the situation even worse.
duotive saidIt won’t work with your own details because you’re not a buyer of your own themes so either purchase from a different account or ask a buyer to create a temporary api key for you.
Interesting. One question. If i buy one of my themes to test it out, will it work? Or will it work with our own details?
Keys can now be deleted so it wouldn’t be like giving out envato account details.
RubenBristian saidHe would still need buyer api key to test, that debug line only make sure the update code gets called on each page reload. Only way is to ask a buyer for it or purchase own item from another account.
@PixelBook .. there is a line which you if uncomment, it’ll work as a test. Check the class file and you’ll see the line which needs to be uncommented for debugging.
@duotive fixed link is in post 4
