excuse me for my frustration over the past 11 months I have actually made this theme include a lot of functionality, features, and options. I am extremely frustrated over this design review process and I am thinking of taking my business elsewhere.

I have asked for help from staff members and the main thing was typography and line-spacing, I figured I fixed that before. But I keep adding stuff to it, and I keep getting the same answer!

If the design review team want to act like robots then make an algorithm and go on vacation. Because I couldn’t tell the difference from a genuine response to actually help THE PERSON .

Same spam message every rejection, and i have more features and design layouts than 80% of accepted themes. I just think themeforest is a load of crap now. Sounding like hypocritical donkeys accepting lousey work with less design and giving spam messages with no thought process to help aspiring theme makers.

Unfortunately your submission Innovate | Multi-Purpose WP Theme isn’t quite ready for ThemeForest and requires significant improvements and changes before it can be resubmitted and reconsidered.

Additionally, we have some extra feedback for you:

Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality.

You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval.

I know it’s frustrating to be rejected citing uniqueness but recently, we’ve gotten a large number of template with the same overall features and presentation and we have to draw the line somewhere.

However, we do accept themes with similar structure but in condition it provides better quality in terms of aesthetic or features.

I actually think this is a radical improvement form the ones already on the market, specifically the popular stock and TINYMCE which had a lot of benefits but seems a little bit too much and not robust. I have to admit this is the first of the mce’s that has a clean-robust interface that I think WordPress should update in the next update to make it more cleaner interface, less blocky.

Well let’s see… I guess I base most of my purchases on feedback in the item’s comments. I look for comments that state that the item was easy to use/install, and I also look for questions asked by the buyers that get responses from the author. Questions asked and never answered stick out for me as a no buy item. Author rating does play a role, but a very small one. Item support after the sale is probably #1 for me though I very rarely ask for support, it is nice knowing if I have any issues I can get help.

One thing that does bother me is when a question is asked, and the author responds with “answered in email”. More then once I have had the same question, and now have to contact the author instead of reading the fix/answer right there where it was asked previously.

Just my 2c. Hope it helps!

Well that is very surprising you did not once mention the actual product’s importance, just easy to use and install, very good to see how one consumer thinks.

PhilLarson –you don’t start to work for anything or anyone here on the freelance world before you get first down payment no matter what author it is ,even if Angelina Jolie will offered you free sex to do custom audio work you need to be strong say no and still ask for down payment if you want to do custom audio work for many years.

haha classic! Always protect yourself first, don’t do work for free. Oh Well, people have to learn to.

Here are some stats for browser usage / versions for your country (Netherlands) http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser_version_partially_combined-NL-monthly-201110-201210
  • IE9 26 .4% 2nd
  • IE8 12 .6% 5th
  • IE7 less than 1% 8th (or less)
  • IE6 not enough data to pop on the chart

Of course these are not local markets – just thought I would throw in some stats as it’s nice to back up with some figures :)

  • Chrome #1 with 28+%
  • Firefox #3 16%

Both Chrome and Firefox plus Safari on iPad and Safari main browser are all on the increase – others on the decrease.

Also note these are not figures released by the browser creators but are real world usage stats – for what any figures for browser usages are worth (non are 100% accurate of course)

Jonathan

I am quite surprised with these stats Jonathan because it is amazing to see a trend where Google is taking over in all areas from products, to internet services I am quite shocked on how fast they took over and even chrome! Wow

About the themes, I feel it is fair to say that in previous posts you can only do so much, but it’s all about the customer experience and how easy you make it for the customer to use your products in the end. You can have the best features, the best freaking support, the coolest themes, but if it’s harder to use and more complicated then the next joe. You’re outa luck. Steve Jobs said it best “I always start from the end at the customer experience than I go backward”

Or Tom Green famous:

The Backwards man The backwards man I can walk backwards as fast as you can O,the backwards man the backwards man

Moral of this post, start at the end and go backwards :P

Hey all,

I know people get frustrated with all the rejection going around, I especially love rejection it makes me want it more and makes my theme better! I have been rejected a lot and you know what? I say thank you! Since my last couple of rejections it looks a lot better and much more professional.

If you got rejected and you’re :( don’t worry its a present in disguise ;) so post the benefits of getting rejected and how it made your themes better here.
