I’ve always said that Macromedia never took OS X seriously as a platform (because of incompetence rather than any other reason). When I moved to Mac and realised that their products sucked incredibly on OS X I just stopped using their products Obviously not everyone can do this.
Thankfully though you can write ActionScript externally to the actual Flash IDE nowdays so that’s not so much a problem for developers on OS X , but for designers, it’s pretty tough.
I’d say the FlashPlayer may be faster on the Intel Macs, and if so in 12 months time it’ll be a non-issue. I’ve got a friend with an Intel Mac so next time I see him I’ll sus it out.

By ‘Web Developing’ you mean ‘Working in Macromedia Products’ then yes. The other 95% of ‘Web Developing’ I’d say OS X is the platform with all the benefits.
