Goldeneye 64 Hadn’t played it in years but recently found my cart and been playing it every day since. I’ve even managed to unlock the Invincibility cheat again (complete Facility on 00 Agent mode in under 2:05).
I’m not a happy customer and it’s through no fault of any of the authors work. I don’t want bundles! Fix your search engine and improve your customer response times, also listen to your authors! As a customer I read these forums occassionally and all I see are disgruntled authors upset by Envatos decisions (and again lack of response) – doesn’t make me want to support the sites at all even if I like the work of the authors.
A search function that works will increase sales on any ecommerce site. Even my girlfriend knows that and she believed me when I said the internet was being turned off for the day to get spring cleaned.
I mostly work with stone but the two tools I can’t live without are electric sander (cost £15 incl. sandpaper) and my angle grinder (cost £30). I suppose it does depend on what you’re building, but wherever possible I would always suggest getting electric tools over manual ones (eg. drill instead of screwdriver, powersaw instead of handsaw etc) as it saves hours or work
A really easy project is to make your own tealight holders, eg:-
Buy a drill and 40mm drillbit and you can drill perfect sized holes for tealights (see above). Quick and easy to make and also make nice personal presents for just about every woman you know lol
My impulse purchasing has stopped since the increase though Envato will still be the only marketplace I buy from (just less often I think). Too many items in my account that were never actually used (launched) so I was already more hesitant to buy and the price increase only made me less trigger happy on the buy button.
I agree the search function needs improving.
It’s even more annoying having to close two frames now that loads of authors are including a customised frame too Just close the first one and then the 2nd one appears.
I doubt Envato or the authors will want the frames removed so it’ll need something like a greasemonkey script to automatically hide them
I’ve been trying to buy the ACER Aspire 4820TG for the last month but apparently nobody can fulfil the order Originally bought through Amazon (last in stock) but they couldnt find it in the warehouse. Went to PCWorld.co.uk, who as expected gave me the run around after charging me, so now Im back ordering through Amazon as they restocked but still no sign of my laptop and past its expected delivery date The whole experience has been pretty stressful tbh

Rackspace certainly seem to be highly esteemed in the industry, but I’m yet to actually meet someone who has direct experience with them. Has anyone got any stories to tell?
Services like www.mosso.com are well known (a Rackspace venture) and include automated billing and account reminders. I don’t have any specific recommendations, no experience there.
I have an account on Rackspace Cloud Its currently $149 per month so quite expensive.
- Resell to unlimited clients with automated billing - White label live chat support (if your clients site goes down they can use live chat on your site but they’ll actually be speaking with Rackspace technicians) - Traffic spikes/digg-effects don’t take your site offline
- Their Control Panel is slow - No SSH - An additional $20 per month just for SSL - Due to their billing structure, which uses Compute Cycles that measure how much processing power your account websites actually use, you really have to optimise every website – or pass any overage fees onto your clients.
You’re limited to 10,000 Compute Cycles per month, and one of my clients sites (a huge site, sql optimised, loads of caching, 1000 uniques daily) uses 5000 of those cycles alone.
If anyone is thinking of trying RackspaceCloud I’d suggest you visit their customer forum first to get an idea of some problems other resellers have been facing
Generally, the less time and money a client is willing to invest the less personal and approachable I will be with them Big clients I speak to daily on the phone for an hour every evening (off the clock), and small clients I’ll just use MSN /Email and bill them for my time.
