1 more rejection please, I want this to be really good.
A bit offtopoc but: does anyone have the cinema apple display and can reccommend it? it seems a bit expensive though so you could just as well buy an imac no? I got a new macbook pro 15” so i would like an extra screen, just not sure to go with the cinema display or another monitor!
I love the Cinema Display, mine is now 3 years old and it works perfectly. I use it 12 hours a day 5 days a week. Never had an issue with it. Highly recommended! I even used it for print design but I have to admit there are better displays out there for print work (Eizo)
$ 1000 for 3 years that comes down to $ 28 a month, considering how much you can make with it it’s a bargain. And it’s still worth like $ 500 if you want to sell it. so then if you have used it for 3 years and sell it for $ 500 it costed you $ 14 a month.
Also worth considering that you can replace the Laptop every year easily if you want to keep up with the latest and greatest, you can sell a MBA more easily to non web design oriented folks then a 27 inch iMac and then on top of that you can carry it if you’re on the go.
It’s an iMac on your Desk and a MacBook Air/Pro in your bag. 2 in 1 style
I use my MBA with a 27” Cinema Display, bought a wireless keyboard and a magic mouse as well, it would be a pain to use the laptop keyboard and work on the Cinema Display.
I have this setup since 3 years now, I only change the MBA every year and charge the batteries
It’s just perfect for web design, the only software I use is Photoshop.
I suggest you get the MBA as soon as you can but I would wait with the Cinema Display since I am 99% sure that It get’s an update when the MacPro comes out. I think the new Cinema Display get’s the same design treatment like the new iMac’s got last year.
The reason I don’t have the Retina MacBook Pro is that the lid of my laptop is closed 90% of the time.
But I will replace my Cinema Display if the next one will be retina and still keep the MBA if it can drive the new Display
Apple posted a 5,120-by-2,880-pixel image of the Mavericks Desktop wallpaper on it’s site that’s twice the resolution of the current Cinema Displayhttp://nofilmschool.com/2013/06/5k-apple-retina-display-imac-osx-mavericks/
