Hey Simaudio! I use 32 ram.. should be more then enough. But really, it’s no problem.. i’ll just sit here in the corner playing with my kontakt libraries
It’s obviously not the ram that’s a problem then. Thank Heavens for kontakt Annoying all the same, i never really liked the whole dongle thing, bad enough with Cubase…frightens me to deathEDIT: reminds me a bit of this story about a lost i-lok, sorry if it’s off topic http://audiojungle.net/forums/thread/lost-my-ilok-and-need-the-software-license-today-for-a-project/90132
MartijndeBont saidHave you tried it recently? For me Play is as stable as anything else on my PC. I have pretty much their entire collection. There were stability issues in early days but for some years now its rock solid. Sure, I prefer Kontakt but when it comes to stability and usability there is no difference to me.
FirstNote saidAgreed, PLAY is the only software I have constant trouble with. That’s the reason I don’t use any EW stuff anymore, there are much better alternatives.
RobertSlump saidYes, the PLAY software is a glitch monster.
If only I can get the play engine to work without glitches
Sadly, for me it’s still unstable and glitchy.
First i bought orchestra gold and choirs back in the day. Could not get it to work without crashing.and they offered zero help.
Since then i heard good things about play so i tried again last year with goliath and hollywood strings gold. Sadly, still major problems.. for example, a very nice sounding piano in goliath just stops working and most of the time it cant get the timing of my midi notes right.. sigh. This is all on a spanking new PC, windows 7 professional, etc.I will stay away for now, but for those who can get to work this will probably be a cool deal.
Hi Robert, im just curious to know how much ram you have? wondering if that’s part of the problem?
Nice balloon Taco, Its a great milestone! congrats
