Really nice video, looks amazing! thanks for the share :)

It was nice to see after spending sometime yesterday, cleaning, changing strings and oiling up the fingerboards on two of my guitars.

You can almost smell that workshop in the video :)

I have to say that….....

Pinkzebra is spot on! The guy has got a very handsome badge to prove it :) so I think we can safely say the he knows what he is doing! And how good is he?

I enjoyed my time being a featured author and sales did improve for me, also it is an honour and deep recognition for your work and that’s good enough for me and I really appreciate that, because as we all know when we are in the studio all day you can tend to lose the plot a bit so any feedback is good feedback….right?

I believe it is not just about the moment but about the long term, I know now that I have several repeat customers and that has to be a good thing, that only came from being a featured author, so I say a big thanks to those guys, ( I have items that have sold repeatedly with extended licence’s because of these guys) :)

I think Scott once said “it’s a marathon not a sprint” and I stand by that BIGTIME , because I’m in it for the long term and this site is not here to make pop stars out of people! It is a royalty free music site!

Some authors have done extremely well out of it and we all know how exceptional they are, but there are new authors here that could be just as good and also a lot of luck has to be involved, so time will tell.

It is a great community and the staff have been really helpful to me so “big up these guys” they are cool ?

Believe me it is great to be a featured author ? you might not see sales instantly but i’m sure it makes a difference.

Sorry for the rant but it’s not always about the money, it’s a good thing to build slowly  In anything you do in life IMHO ?

I’m sure it helped me :) this a great community, be happy, polite and genuine and i’m sure you will get noticed….........we are all in the same boat, ha-ha :)

Yeah! being a featured author….........it’s a thing of greatness

I think what you say is spot on! N.I stuff can be a bit of a monster! synth and cpu wise, who wants to waste all that time trying out all those presets? it can suck the life out of you, I’m always constantly searching for the right sound, but over time I have now built up quite a library of my own presets that I like and use, but I think the point here is to get to know your instrument! That is quite a difficult thing to do when you buy a big library…...like say Komplete and suddenly you have all these instruments and FX to play with, it is a bit like a kid in a candy shop ha-ha :)

However I constantly use the freeze function in cubase or record as audio when using N.I. stuff, I believe you should record vst’s to audio anyway as instruments change with upgrades and you might stop using them etc, you will always have an audio file that you are happy with and if you are not you can always go back and change the settings to fit a mix by simply saving and going back to the previous project.

But all in all I do really like a lot of their stuff but they do have too many gimmicks.

“An Epiphany” – by Basspartout ;)

I’m so proud of myself now – I did it! I restrained myself :)
Photobucket
On one side, I spend at least an hour listening to their demos on their website and yes, it’s true – a lot of the sounds really sound a little outdated. And then, slowly but surely a question came crawling up…. the question every software/plugin/vst company hates, the question you’re not supposed to ask yourself….ever….never…..NEVER!!!:
Photobucket
“DO I REALLY NEED MORE SOUNDS ??”

Then I had a look in my Studio One Library Folder which is filled with 18 GB of Sounds and I bet I haven’t checked out even 10% of them since I bought it in February
What happened to the days when we had just one synth and we knew that one inside out?! I remember I did awesome sounding string arrangements in the 90s with “just” a Roland D70 and an ASR10 sampler (“maxed out” with 16 MB Ram, haha).
I have to thank you guys – you helped me say “NO” (and wait til I can afford KOMPLETE 8 hahaha)
Cheers

Lol! Black Books

It is funny how we take all these sounds for granted now, it would be interesting to see how many bits of kit you would need to create all those sounds in Komplete. I’m still using Komplete 7 as i didn’t feel it was worth upgrading to eight as there wasn’t really much more in that upgrade than what’s already in seven. Here’s an old thread you might be interested in;

Sorry if i’m being obvious…....but i take it you have downloaded the free N.I. stuff ?

I have Sampletank and to be honest i prefer the N.I. stuff, i did see the offer was on and have been thinking about the miroslav being pretty good but after doing some research have discovered that it is probably quite dated anyway so have decided to save my cash.

I did recently buy Albion Spitfire which i have to say is very good but obviously a completely different product than Miroslav, but you should have a listen, it is more of a cinematic library but has some great string, woodwind and brass sounds, i’ve not really had time to investigate yet but i like what i hear, you can use this in the free version of Kontakt.

Hope this helps :)
