This was the thing that occurred to my right after posting this thread
Hi, I can’t wrap my head around this thing and wanted to know how you authors deal with this. When a client wants a (paid) customization – for example something that includes creating additional metaboxes for your theme, you send him the files and that one with the metaboxes. How do you proceed with him installing that customization:
1) Overwrites the original metaboxes files with the one sent by you (that includes also the new ones)
2) Make him write an include line in the functions.php
3) Something else?
I’m asking this because of what will happen when you release an update for the theme. He may overwrite your files… and in many cases break the theme.
Can you please share some solutions that you use in cases like these? Thanks!
I think it’s the first time I see that “Load It” button
In what way are you using it (or trying) with your clients? Just curious to know. I’m using it personally and as you said, it’s great in that case.
haha! I actually had a very similar email recently
“Here are my problems with the theme, please call me on xxx-xxx-xxxx to discuss them.”Obviously I called long distance straight away! /sarcasm
Ahah, I like how YOU should call him
@RubenBristian I can only imagine the surprise when a phone rings with an international number on it.
The only thing left is home delivery support:
- Here is a disc with the fix for your problem.
But still it’s better to contact the author and explain to him what exactly you mean by “not working”. I’m sure he will help you right away
